Hello

I started off with the windows antivirus - I have cleaned this off and a lot more that was in the background. All is loads better but I still have issue - when I open IE I get a pop up that says 'Windows security alert - windows has detect a security threat' etc (I can post screen shot if needed)

I am wondering if some of you wonderful people could help me. I have followed instructions to the letter and here are mylogs....... I have also scanned with AVG (fully updated) and its clear now. I am running Windows Vista.

Hi sjc1919 and welcome to Malwarbytes. First turnoff TeaTimer.

Open SB S&D
Make sure you are in Advanced Mode. Click on the Mode link at the top of the program and then Advanced Mode.

Click on the Tools section and then Resident.
You will see two items.
1. Resident "SD helper" (Internet Explorer bad download blocker.) active
2. Resident "Tea Timer" (Protection of over-all system settings.) active.

Uncheck number 2..
Leave number 1 checked always.

You can enable Tea Timer again if you wish once all special fixes have been done.

Now please make sure you have all files and folders set to show.

Please set your system to show
all files; Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab.
Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

Reboot to Safe Mode by continually tapping the F8 key.

Using Windows Explorer navigate to the following files and copy them to a folder you name malware. Zip that folder by right clicking on it and choosing send to zipped folder. Attach the zipped folder to your next reply and delete all files and folders with these file names in them.

Now boot into normal mode. Update MBAM and run a quick scan post that log and a new HJT log please.

Thanks for the reply. I have done that and here are the results. I could not find the zyjwdopy.exe anywhere though. I have zipped and attached the first file and here are my updated logs.......

Oops we need to get HJT off the desktop. It should be in a folder all it's own in program files. Please move it, update MBAM to the new version and do a quick scan post that log and anew HJT log from the correct location please.

Sorry I didn;t see that bit - it was a friends pc and the last pop up stopped and he ain't come back complaining so far so all should be good. If he does come back then I will post here.......
