I use Malwarebytes FREE edition to run on-demand scans. The full system scan runs for about 4 1/4 hours for about 247,000 files. It seems like a very long time to me and I'm wondering what other users are experiencing.

There is no need to run a full scan. A quick scan is designed to catch all the malware.
