Cannot log in to report false positive

I just created an account in order to report a possble false positive, yet whenever I enter the support or false positive forum, the top left display of my forum name changes to "Sign in", which, when clicked, producs only a short blip of activity but otherwise has no consequences. What am I doing wrong?
