I do not know what to call this malware, virus or just registry error

I don't know if this is the correct section to ask this. Please move accordingly

I do not know exactly which program may have caused this symptom:

Poppup object that says "windows can not find User/AppData/Roaming/5.exe

It is a small window and I think a blank title bar and red circle X next to the text

I installed Malwarebytes free version and Search and Destroy free version.
They both found about 20-30 items each finding different items.
I removed those items and the poppup still exists.

Now for the lengthy backround of what I think could have caused this

I was trying to root my android, and was installing android studio, and found the file for my android in order to make it rooted.
This was suppose to be a solution to why I was getting insufficient storage or insufficient memory when indeed there was plenty of memory.
After much research, people have noticed variable things that cause this and ALL solutions required rooting of some sort in order to remove duplicate system files or duplicate.
I used the method recommended with adb and everything ran successful but my phone was still not rooted.
I then installed a one click method software called Kingo or Kingo ROOT and the folder was called kingosoft
Installing this seemed to root and reboot my phone too at least it said that it was rooted,  but I was still NOT rooted
I was concerned that it didn't work and uninstalled the program. During uninstallation I noticed other items in (Control Panel) Remove Programs sections that should not be there
A program called BoBrowser

I uninstalled this and I believe this is where the poppups may have come from
I also deleted any folders related to it and also Kingo ROOT and registry entries that I could find

I actually was not able to remove Kingosoft folder at first. I had to boot to Linux which allow me to delete the folder where windows would not.

I don't know if any of that is related to the poppup object
But there is something calling 5.exe and the popup says windows can not find /5.exe

My question is what files call .exe files in windows
Is it a dll or is this actually the nature of the malware or virus which causes the poppup?
Or is this just an unlinked file that I removed the virus files or malware and the call to it just can't find it because it's gone ? Is this just another file I need to find and remove ?

Please advise
Thanks

Thanks for the reply

I had already scanned with Malwarebytes 2.0.4.1028
And saved the logs. I did this 3 times until no further objects were detected.
I probably foolishly removed all those items just to see if that would solve the problem.
Removing them did not seem to cause any further problems yet the initial problem still existed.
FYI one other thing that really caused me to scan for malware was that my home page changed and I did not change it.
I changed it back manually and it has remained after malwarebytes removed items as shown in the logs.

Anyhow The items I suspected in the logs are mostly things like these:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Compatibility Assistant\Persisted]
"C:\\Users\\Agent86\\Downloads\\UnlockRoot_downloader_by_UnlockRoot.exe"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Compatibility Assistant\Persisted]
"C:\\Users\\Agent86\\Downloads\\android_root.exe"=dword:00000001

FYI a google search for android_root_exe also produces links to Kingo android ROOT software which I believe is what caused my problems when trying to fix something else on my android.

I will attached the malwarebytes logs first log ending in 38, then 17, then 09

Before I post the logs what are the logs ? I saved or backed up whatever malewarebytes asked but these files show as some sort of reg file not a .txt file

Once I post the correct logs, I'll move on to part 2 of your instruction

Thanks

Thanks

Ahh OK thanks.
Can I bring up the old save and export to a .txt or can I only do this after the scan ?

The reason I'm asking is because the latest scans do not detect anything but will this export to .txt still be useful if nothing is detected ?

Secondly I did notice something strange as follows:
Since Kingo android Root has a list of passable antivirus software that seems to suggest it's virus free with only 1 exception being Mcafee.

Having said that I decided to try trend micro and mcafee

These forced me to uninstalled both Avast and Search and Destroy.

The new virus software did not detect anything.
However, since the uninstall of Avast and Search and Destroy this annoying poppup seems to have stopped. At least so far as my last reboot.

Typically the annoying poppup (windows cannot find file 5.exe) usually comes up fairly quickly after the machine fully boots perhaps within at least 5min.

Both Trend and Mcafee did not find anything but I'm currently running Mcafee full scan which is going to take a while

I will post my logs when I get back from the store and after the scan. But I will have to experiment with a reinstall of those programs to see if they symptom returns. This is curious for sure.

Thanks for the replies I will post fresh logs.

Darn it, checking 3 files in history seems to produce the same file as checking 1 so I'll add them individually, sorry

There are 3 scan history files and 2 protection files

Sorry I do not know which -22 protection file matches the proper -22 scan file

Thanks

Download the attached fixlist.txt to the same folder as FRST.exe/FRST64.exe.
Run FRST.exe/FRST64.exe and click Fix only once and wait
The tool will create a log (Fixlog.txt) in the folder, please post it to your reply.
