Issue on 2nd PC with New MBAM Premium

Recommended Posts

I posted earlier regarding the issues I was having with my main PC.

https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/166435-multiple-issues-with-214-premium-on-xp-sp3/

While no one's gone thorough the logs, the suggestions Gonzo gave me largely solved the issues.

PC #2 is configured very similarly, but has a different issue.

Both pc's also have a program called Greatis Reg Run that amongst many other things scans for root kits at boot up. it takes about 5 minutes. It has never had a conflict with MBAM in the past.

This has NEVER happened before, (& I've always had check for rootkits checked on Mbam premium), but on pc #2 (both are XP SP3) MBAM is now doing a full scan on every boot that takes about 40 minutes.

Is this simply manner of unchecking a box, or do I have a problem?

Again, I didn't change any settings, it's never happened before until this update, it happens on every boot & both PC's are configured very similarly (fyi the MBAM scan does come back clean)

These are the scans from PC #2 that I am referring to above. TIA!

You do not need to do a full scan on every boot of your computer. A threat scan is all that is needed. Full scans can be done from time to time if you like, but on every boot up, that's extreme. You are only putting wear and tear on your hard drive and so its really not recommended.

As for rootkit scanning, I only use that option myself on a manual threat scan, on any XP computers, on a scheduled scan I do not use that option. Now on my windows 7 computers that have plenty of RAM, SSD hard drives multi core processers, my Threat scans only take about 7 minutes and that's with Rootkit scanning enabled.....

Great, now just be patient and wait until one of the experts picks up your topic. Do not reply to the topic (not even to add more info) until someone replies to your topic. They are quite busy in that section of the forum so delays are expected.

Thanks for understanding...
