Hi I've recently started to notice some things to make me think I have a virus. Just to be safe I went to run Malwarebytes And it said it was searching for the file. I hit browse to tell it where to run from and I cant find the file mbam.exe or whatever to make it run. I came on here and have been looking through a lot of the forums to see if anything I can find sounds like what I'm dealing with. I found one post that had a link to download a randomized .exe file and I think I did it right...But when i try to run it it gives me a error saying "MBAM_ERROR_ENUMERATE_LANGUAGES(2,0) The system cannot find the file specified." Please help me somebody :)

Hello Gabe123 ,Welcome to Malwarebytes.org

The usual reason for the mbam.exe being missing is a malware attack - You have 2 options - Reinstall or have the experts look at it -

The first listed is to un/reinstall the program and the second is in case the first will not fix it -

Option 1 -To Fully Remove and Reinstall a Fresh New Copy of Malwarebytes - Read Carefully

Windows XP:

  • Click on Start and select Control Panel
  • Open Add/Remove Programs
  • Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Restart your computer very important !
  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here

It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so, very important

After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here

Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version only -

Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.

Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask me and I'll explain how to do it.

Windows Vista and Windows 7:
