Hi guys, I'm brand new to this forum, so apologies if I dont follow the right etiquette! I have been handed a Win7 laptop by my mother-in-law telling me it's got a virus. Apparently she opened an email that was dodgey. The laptop has Avira on it which turned up with 3 issues found. I then downloaded malware bytes and found two listings of PUM.HiJack. StartMenu Basically their start menu doesnt have many items in it andymore, most of which are empty. I cannot find 'my documents' or even navigate to the desktop folder or anything. Running malwarebytes has quarantined the files, but I dont know how to resolve the start menu to how it was. I tried restoring to a previous version but got an error and it failed. There is also some kind of program called catalyst sayign there is errors Any help will be very much appreciated Thanks in advance!!
