  1. 99.999% sure but not 100% since I have tried so many things. For now I have done what @dcollins suggested and will give it a few days to see if it happens again. CURRENTLY I am back at 32bit. Ed
  2. OK, done. Will give it some time and let you know. Ed
  3. Seems to be happening every few days. FF locks up when I start it and won't connect to websites. Chrome and IE work fine. Drove me nuts for weeks. Starting Firefox in safe mode doesn't help but "refreshing" Firefox always helps (for a few days). So one at a time I started removing programs and it seems Malwarebytes is the culprit. As soon as I disable MB Firefox starts right up then when I restart MB, same problem, FF hangs. If I do a "refresh" on FF it also works WITH MB RUNNING but FF eventually dies again within a few hours or a day or a few days and stopping MB fixes it again. I have tried BOTH the 32bit and 64bit Firefox. Always the latest versions of both FF and MB. Not sure if it matters but I also have Norton Anti-Virus running but stopping that doesn't help, only stopping MB gets FF back again Am i alone with this issue?
  4. It seems I have no options any longer for the "type" of scan I ewant to run. The only option I seem to have is "SCAN NOW" and it's "THREAT SCAN." Where did "custom" or "full" scan go? Home Premium 2.1.8 on WIN 10. I am pretty sure I went through all the selections but I guess I missed it somewhere.
  5. Sorry, unable to edit my own last message ... just to add to the above: Win 8.1 Pro 64bit is the OS.
  6. Same problem here. Got a prompt for a NEW SOFTWARE update yesterday and and installed it. Woke up this morning and found a red mark on my system tray icon and a message that Malicious Website Protection was disabled. I manually enabled it in config, rebooted but it was still "red". Did a few more "enables" and reboots and same problem continued. After taking a couple (I assume) manual database updates and rebooting for the umpteenth time it now seems to be OK. Seems the last SOFTWARE update broke something. Also, after that update I was unable to delete the desktop icon no matter how I tried setting the permissions. After a bit of Googling I found that disabling the "self protection mode" I was able to delete the icon. Now THAT seems like a bit of overkill.
