  1. I used bmp last time. How about jpg? This is nuts. I can browse and attach files but when I click Preview, it removes the attachments. If I click Try our basic uploader, it clears the attachments and takes me to the top of the page. I'll try it from home at lunch.
  2. Its a HP Z600 desktop with Windows 7. Its probably the state firewall thats doing it. Can you see the picture I uploaded on my last reply?
  3. Not finding the envelope thing. Thinking it must need to be activated because we used it briefly a short time ago. My system says that I need to download Skype. That messenger is being phased out this year. What would you suggest? Something about Skype just doesn't sound right. Maybe because it sound like Syke.
  4. The W7 laptop is doing well. I downloaded Avira, Spybot, Spyware Blaster, Online Armor, and Firefox. Spyware Guard is not available. I was installing Avira and it immediately found a virus that it said was a shopbot or something like that. choices of action were remove and details. I clicked details. after viewing details my choices were quarantine and cancel. I chose quarantine, but in the report it said nothing found. I think it may be a software problem, but it was free so... I'm gonna try Avast. Ithink we can mark this one Resolved. I have the first set of instructions for the XP. I should PM you when I complete that, but How to send a PM?
  5. The Windows Defender problem was from awhile ago. I had McAfee as resident and would get these popups stating I was in danger blah blah blah. I would just Alt-F4 them, thinking that it was a trick since McAfee didn't catch it. But then, if it was a trick, why didn't Mcafee catch it? Mcafee didn't catch anything. It just told me Whoa, you better not go to this website or that website. It would freak out over most of my favorite porn websites. Sorry, I didn't get a chance to donate last night. I really really will. Really, but maybe not tonight either. I've got to figure out how to make an electric fence. Check this out - about four months ago, the Sheriff had two ladies buy drugs from a parole violator who, when he realized what was happening, took off running. In the direction of my house. Just as he reached my front yard, an unmarked skidded to a stop and out pops the cop already running. The same cop that just two minutes earlier almost hit me as I was on my way home for lunch. I had to pull some jedi maneuvering to not get hit by this guy. So I was gonna follow him to see where he was going. Well, at least until I get to my street. Then I saw him turn down my street. Uh oh. Just as the bad guy was clearing my fence, the cop shoots him in the back. Uh huh, with his trusty yellow taser pistol, while he was in mid-air. The bad guy fell like a rock and the cop cleared my gate soccer goalie style. Needless to say, they smashed my gate. AND while they were wrestling around in my backyard, the cop car puts itself into reverse, backs up about 200 feet and takes a sharp left turn right smack into my other fence and gate on the other side of my house. Then everybody started showing up. I had 20 cop cars, a firetruck, ambulance, CSI, and a towtruck outside.
  6. The only available JRE through the link you supplied is 7u25. Would this be indicative of a problem?
  7. I was just gonna ask what you would recommend to help keep me safe out there. So, I had McAfee Total Protection installed, which was a joke. Total Protection - oh except for trojans and rootkits. And when your year is up, the whole thing quits working. Thanks for all the tips. Now I've lots of questions. Is Malwarebytes not considered antivirus? If its not good to have multiple antivirus installed - Its OK to have an antivirus and the Spybot and the other two Spyware programs you mentioned installed? What is resident protection? Regarding rogue programs - Windows Defender, with the blue and yellow shield logo. Please tell me thats a legit program. It does what you mention in your description of rogues. With those infective message boxes, would Alt-F4 be a safe way to close em?
  8. Oh Hey. I forgot to say YAAAY. and Thank you so much for your time, dedication, expertise, and patience. So, I'll go do that Paypal thing tonight when I get home. I'm assuming the links to paypal would be specific to the poster's account. Or does it all just go into one big Malwarebytes account?
  9. The vulnerabilities you speak of, being caused by outdated programs - is it just the free programs or would include purchased software too? What about quicktime? What about having multiple versions of Acrobat Pro? Here at work I have all the Acrobats installed going back to version 5. Except for 6. 6 sucked. If I wasn't behind a gov firewall, would I be asking for trouble?
  10. Wow. 103! and how cold was it there last week? The file that OTL made is the one that was named all numbers, in the zip file I sent. Should I rename it and send it again?
  11. Scan logs 3.zipOk Heres the latest set. when i ran the delete option in AdwCleaner, as with the first time when i ran it, there were no prompts before deleting.
  12. aih, something weird. I double clicked on the AdwCleaner to Delete and it says I dont have the recent version, so yes to download it. Then some page in French comes up. not understanding French very well, I just closed the window. and was gonna reopen the program, but looks like it was removed from my computer. Gonna see if I can re get it.
  13. Yes, I am. Thank you for checking. Last few weekends have been crazy here. What with all that Global Warming going on. I'm currently on step two of the last set of instructions. I should be able to post the log files this afternoon.
