  1. Greetings, I could use more information on encryption, as to setting Mbam mobile beta app, as device administrator. Do I need to encrypt my device First? I'm on HTC m9, Nougat 7.0 and was updated to it. Meaning encryption is still a choice for me, and not a default. Or, does Mbam encrypt files for me, if and when I enable device administrator for the app? The PDF user guide HAS NOT been updated yet. Additionally, can I have more than one app set as device admin? Such as Google's device administrator? And or others besides those two? Finally, more information on what will be premium vs freemium features for the new beta when it goes live. Seems that beta testers would be excluded from the 30 day trail by default. I beta test for several other apps, and have not been auto- enrolled into a trail period before. Nova Launcher is a paid (once) app, with frequent updates, but, I can understand going to the model you chose. All I'm asking is, if a beta user is a participating/contributing member on G+ page, you might consider excluding us from the trail period. Thanks
  2. I would think that now the phone is in root, that the "kingroot" app is no longer needed. I can't see that it's needed to maintain a root status.
  3. Anytime you use a free product, you become the products. That's the Google way and everyone else too. If Avast wants to help direct you to safe sites to shop, then why not let them. They probably should have been a little more transparent in the beginning, but were quick to make it more apparent what was going on,which is a lot better than most software companies these days. I say, forgive them and move on,wittth or without, but that would be your loss, without. Avast is one of the very few security venders who pay large bug bounties to help keep us safe, where does that money come from?? Monetization of course, and products for sale. And if you think you can browse the web in complete Privacy, you better think again. I for one am heading over to the site that started this to put in my two cents worth, and too chastise them for not alllowing Avast to respond!
  4. Go to the G+ groups and find the beta test group for Malwarebytes, and there are links the lead to the beta version 1.05.9000 and see if you can download it from that leas back into playstore. You have to join the group though to do that, and it took me a bit to find the right links. Feel free to private message me back if you can not find the group.
  5. Is there a new beta version above this one? I just joined the beta g+ group last week and saw no notice beta went stabile. the version I have is 1.05.9000 Maybe a notice could be posted at G+ group by the owner of said group. Thanks.
  6. Hi, Better battery stats tells me that over a ten hour period, while phone sleeps,Mbam used less than .01% The phone does perform functions while in sleep mode, and some apps will fire up briefly,so Mbam running in the background is hardly noticed. My overall drain was maybe 10% in that ten hour period. If you want to know how your battery is really performing, then get Better Batery Stats in playstore. Cost, about $3. Well worth it.
  7. Oct.20 2014 Avast updated again a few day ago,and I am running Mbam mobile beta, which I think just went stabile in playstore. I have not had any of the recent problems especially with the icons in notifications bar. Avast's icon was causing position problems, that I think may have caused some scanning anomalies. Avast had doubled on scans at times, and may have interupted Mbams program scans at times. I believe they are behaving now,and have not witnessed any further problems.
  8. One last note here is needed for anyone who finds this. Some replies are not in the order in which events transpired. The last one with the (duplicate message reply) My part,"go read all my replies" was actually a second post or rather a new subject post, moved here after I had received the answers already, hense the duplicate answer. That was doneto get the moderators attention. In the mean time,I finally found the official help form and filed a formal request, the above answer from staff has indeed ended this problem.
  9. Sorry, the go read my replies was for "ferndog" who only added to my frustration, which I explained in my official ticket request, now answered. I sent a message with my thanks, and suggested that playstore email link lead to the form for help. As I explained elsewhere,I was being directed all over the place, and my replies were not being read, before being asked questions I answered already. The problem is now resolved to complete satisfaction, thank you.
  10. Go READ ALL MY REPLIES PLEASE! if you had,you would not have asked me questions I answered already! This is not customer support. Google does customer support,by letting us file bug reports. You not reading my imediate response to you first reply,or checking that I responded at all is not being a good moderator. Asking for things answered only creates problems and frustration. Do you get paid to do this job, because if you do,well then that's a problem. You still have not read the reply that TELLS YOU WHAT SCANS ARE BEING MISSED ! Now read my second reply, and stop asking me to write it again. I'm a little sick of writing about this problem and getting the run around. If I write about it again,it will be to someone who has a wider audience.
  11. How in the hell am i to get any help if you don't bother reading my replies on the topic I started??? This is me having a one-sided conversation with you asking questions for which I answered already. You should have received notice that I have replied TWICE NOW! But because YOU have not checked the box to receive updates to my topic,I am forced to reply here for all to see. Without a good support system, Mbams reputation will become less than sterling,as it is so far. now PLEASE READ MY REPLY ON MY PREVIOUS TOPIC!
  12. Ferndog, how can we have a conversation if you don't read my post's? I replied right after you did yesterday. I can not reply to the email you send,it is (no-reply) meaning they bounce back if I tried. Please read my replies here! And I might add that this is a crappy way to resolve an issue if you don't bother to check back. I will post a new topic for each reply if need be.
  13. Hi,and thanks, I should have writen earlier this afternoon when I also discovered that the log history shows no entries for scanning apps upon initiating them. It only shows scans for new,or updated apps,of which some are missing. And the scheduled scans I have set in settings. I have every possible scan selected,so there is more missing than I thought originally. If I can figure out how to forward histories of Mbam and logs from Avast,I will do so as early as possible.
  14. Hi, I'm on: Sprint /USA Model:HTC EVO 4g LTE Version:4.1.1 Build:3.17.651.5. 710RD CPU: 1512 mhz (dual core) Kernel:3.4.10-gf5d846c Hi, I am not sure if There is a problem with your program, but Avast just did a major update and changed their UI. Now,both icons in notification have always been fighting for position. With Avast trying to be first, but when scanning new or updated apps,it seems Mbam goes first, because as soon as Avast announces their scan, yours follows directly behind saying "blank is safe" Now this has been the norm till recently, Mbam has missed scans at times, and Avast has scaned twice for the same app install. (perhaps you could add a five second delay to app scan?) Note: Avast claims that their icon is necessary for better operating.(i did try removing yours for a bit) from notification bar. The thing that concerns me is,that the two programs may be cancelling out one another at times. Although it is entirely possible that Avast is at fault here,I contacted you first,as many people want to run your app side by side with all other AV venders. Also, does Mbam scan all homescreen apps when they reload upon returning from another app. Or what does Mbam scan in the background that Avast would be scanning simultaneously. Like urls,or opening new app?
  15. Hi, Most android phones on jellybeen and above (not sure of lower) have a device manager built in. You can locate, lock, and wipe if needed. Also display a please return message on lock screen. Back up your device always.
