  1. thx Kev, did what u said .. what u mean 'u don't use or need Java or Adobe'!? those recommendations came with the pc when I bought it! basically the pc cant perform without Java and Adobe at all..? but otherwise machine works ok now, thx again
  2. I did what u said.(article #53 is much easier to understand than #51).. after a restart I noticed a couple of things now - when I click 'show hidden icons' on taskbar then 'customize', doesn't matter what behaviours I want to select and change they do not respond! even after another PC restart. also the icons themselves are mixed up, for example , next/opposite to 'avast' icon are 'java update checker'/ 'touchpad' icon - Skype/ 'bluetooth' icon - windows update/... and so on... those icons swapped places! also I pressed 'turn system icons on or off' some of behaviors are disabled and cant be changed! I cant change it from 'off' to 'on' ! and since I bought this PC years ago, I never changed any settings and now I noticed that 'Java' and 'Adobe' didn't get any new updates for a long period of time! how did it happen? they didn't get 'automatic updates' anymore but from the start they did! ?
  3. hi Kev, before i'll try to do steps in article #51 here is another update what happened... - I opened Skype this morning and noticed that W updates are downloading on task bar. I left the room for a little while and when I came back there was msg on whole screen (blue background and white letters) : 'A problem has been detected and W has been shut down to prevent damage to your PC. A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your PC. If this screen appears again follow these steps: check to make sure any new Hware or Sware is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your Hware or Sware manufacturer for any W updates you might need. If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed Hware or Sware. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your PC press F8 to select advanced start up options and then select Safe Mode.' obviously don't have a clue what this all mean... I restarted PC I didn't open any page/app or anything but waited for W updates to go in. 14 updates were installed successfully . here I am.. maybe it is connected to article #51 somehow? should I proceed? thx U.
  4. it sounds complicated. don't understand what to do now... plz can u explain by steps as always Ken?
  5. hi Kev, yes, it made a difference and now machine runs normally. thank you very much for all your help! what caused my pc's performance problems? generally what should I look out in future to avoid it?
  6. hi Kev! here is an update - I scanned my pc with 'avast' it found 1 infected file in 'zoek' but 'avast' removed and fixed it. after restart the sound and video came back! now since 'portable windows repair' fix the original problem 'webpage is not responding' didn't came back, which is an excellent news!! thank You very much for it. overall machine performs good now, only from the start it is very slow and windows opens around 7-8mins when I switch it on... one more thing - what caused the original problem 'webpage is not responding' and how to avoid it in the future? many thanks
  7. hi! all sound is gone and also can't play any video!!?? (for example u-tube)
  8. hi Kev, here's the file _Windows_Repair_Log.txt
  9. hi, after a scan - ' no malware found' but problem still persists. it comes and goes away very suddenly and now freezes pc completely when it happens.. mbar-log-2015-04-01 (00-24-38).txt system-log.txt
  10. Kev, it all happened right now again! and it is even worse - i can't close the page even, everything froze... im using my gilfriend's PC to write u this. she uses google chrome and everything works perfectly, right next to me is my PC and it's frozen and i use IE as u know... why is that? should i forget about IE!? and use another browser?
  11. hi kev, yes, everything seems to work normal now . just one more thing - how can I know which add on is good or which one is bad for my PC? now it wants to ad more add ons on my pc, how do I choose? also, what did cause this 'webpage not responding' issue? what should I do or consider for preventing to happen it again? thx
  12. yes, np I zoomed to 100% and its back to normal, thanks how can I get rid of 'bing'? when I try to open new tab the 'bing' is there... I tried 'tools'/ 'manage add ons'/ 'search providers' but I can't change it or delete it.. ?
  13. hi! I did full browser reset last night because it was impossible to load any page again. how to get back to 'normal' screen size now? it is too large.. will it adjust itself automatically? and also - should I enable or disable 'enhanced protected mode' for managing add-ons?
  14. hi Kev, at the moment everything works normally. will let you know after a week or so how the machine behaves. the only thing - regardless what settings I change on 'notification area icons', the 'volume' icon still disappears and comes back ONLY if I restart the machine.. currently it is set to 'show icon and notifications' but it keeps disappearing...!
  15. hi Kevin, after ZOEK clean up the 'issue' came back last night once. basically it happens only for 20-40 minutes and then everything is normal again. yesterday evening I tried to open the page but couldn't. the page (any page) starts to load but after a few seconds freezes and I can't log out. when I try to scroll up or down side bar , almost always msg appears 'webpage is not responding' / 'windows is checking for solution'... also I noticed that after the ZOEK clean up I can't use Bluetooth, it doesn't work. it is paired up with a device but can't transfer the files... and also some of the taskbar icons (volume/ power for example) are disappearing and re appearing only after a restart.. I didn't change any settings. ?
