  1. Thank you once again for all of your help.
  2. Thank you very much for your help. I can't donate much but I will help with what I can. Can I contact you again if the virus comes back? Also, do I need to worry about hackers having access to my router or about virus copies on my router or on a digital camera that was connected to my system?
  3. OK, I have run the tool and am attaching the requested file. I did check my wife's account and the popup is not appearing there now. Fixlog.txt
  4. I wrote down the text of the popup, it says the following: Title: Start Menu Updated The Start menu was updated to the latest version. What's New: -Critical fix for apps requiring Adobe Flash Player -Critical fix for Start menu -Increased PC battery life with performance improvements -New full-screen Start menu for touch screens -General performance improvements -General bug fixes -New terms of service There is also a check box that reads 'Set my browser homepage and search to web search By clicking OK you agree to these terms and Privacy Policy' In the past however, before I tried removing malware once already, the text box related to installing Skype. This popup constantly has come up whenever we logged into our accounts. In the past, if clicking OK on this popup, the User Account Control informs us that a program called WinServicesUpdater.exe from publisher Win Services is trying to make changes to the computer. I have not allowed it to do so.

  9. Hello, my system seems to be infected with some sort of malware. I am using and Acer Aspire E 15 running Windows 8. Whenever I log into my user profile on the system, a popup comes up talking about changes to the start menu. If the OK button on this popup is pressed it tries to install some program; User Account Control catches it and I have not yet allowed it to install anything. However I have had some strange behaviour on my system including trying to delete a file which I did not have permission to delete and could not give myself permission to delete, which then spontaneously vanished from the file viewer, and settings on my router changing mysteriously. I have tried to get rid of this with the following malware removal programs, including Malwarebytes, Avast, HitmanPro, RogueKiller, some of which seemed to have success but then about a week later the system reset itself spontaneously and the popup was back. I will attach the logs of the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. FRST.txt Addition.txt
