  1. AdvancedSetup, I was able to resolve the issue by following daledoc1's suggestion to cleanly remove MBAM and reinstall it. Thank you for your time in analysing the log files (I was worried you might find evidence of an infection of sorts, though I have no idea were one would have come from). I have no idea what the plug & play thing might be, as I do not use IE (hence the fact that it is not updated). Thanks again!
  2. Thank you, LiquidTension, daledoc1, attached are the three log files you requested. Thank you for your help! FRST.txt CheckResults.txt Addition.txt
  3. Sir, Thank you for the quick response. I tend to be on the more cautious side (some would say paranoid) when it comes to downloading and/or installing utilities I am unfamiliar with. To that end, I have a couple of questions. First, does either of these executables require installation (registry modification, file additions, etc), or is each a stand alone program? Second, I downloaded both in a secure environment, and uploaded each to VirusTotal for AV analysis. While the first (mbam-check-2.1.1.1001.exe) came up as clean, a virus (Trojan/PSW.Autoit.ic) was flagged in the second (frst64.exe), albeit by a single AV engine (out of 57) that I have never heard of. Further research suggests that this may be a false positive. Do you have any insight into what this may be? Thank you for your time and expertise.
  4. Hi all, My explorer integration has stopped working. My searches have all led me to cases where the application itself stops working, or the integration is simply not turned on. In my case, the application itself works fine, as do scans run from the MBAM front-end. When I right-click on a file or folder from Explorer, the MBAM front-end comes up, but goes no further. I can then run any scan manually from there just fine, and if the front-end is already up, initiating a scan from the right-click menu also works. It's just if the application is not running prior to right-clicking that it stops in its tracks before the scan. There are no error messages, and it is not a big deal to load the app beforehand I was hoping that there is a dynamically created config file somewhere that might have become corrupt (easy fix). Thanks!
