  1. I also experience slow browser loading and slow jerky scrolling on XP pro using Chrome (FYI: same with IE). It could be fixed by unchecking "Malware Protection" in Malwarebytes but I did not want to operate in that mode. So I continued searching for a software "clash" somewhere. After endlessly searching web for answers for months and finding nothing except elaborate and unnecessary time consuming dead ends attempting to find a nonexistant virus or such problem, I fixed mine with this simple action: Go to System Properties > Advanced tab > Performance and click Settings. On the Visual Effects tab I found that selecting "Adjust for best performance" instantly made everything fast, smooth and normal. Upon further investigation after reselecting "Custom" instead, I found that unchecking only the very last box in the list called "Use visual styles on windows and buttons" was the only one that caused this problem. Fixed! Take note, Malwarebytes support please, as I know several people who have this exact problem and it fixed them all. No elaborate procedures needed. Some folks may have actually have a malware problem and I appreciate the high level help available here for that, but I'm sure many are experiencing this issue instead and should try this fix (after confirming with malware scans that you are initially clean). Hope this helps someone.
