  1. I have reviewed this product previously but never taken the time to get pricing. Being that most of the time it is personal computers that I am running MBAM on and not corporate workstations I never worried about getting "proper" licensing as I am not violating the EULA by installing MBAM on a non corporate system. We have a corporate licensed version through Barracuda for our corporate systems. I do not use this for Home support computers. I install and often leave the free version and return the laptop. However I have never had the product crash like this before in the 2-3 years that I have been using it so I never needed support which I realize too likely isn't included in the free version. I will see what I can do in order to move forward. Again I do appreciate the advice on this matter greatly.
  2. Thank you Firefox. I work for a local company whom provides free support to its employees on personal computers. I clearly can tell this laptop has been used to download torrents but unless scans reveal these items as the source of an infection I typically disregard these items as it would be unprofessional of me to start deleting the employees data. I have scanned with multiple tools that have not flagged this data as threatening nonetheless I understand your piracy policy. However I can move these items off the computer for troubleshooting purposes. I will indeed move all personal data off to a external before posting in the proper section and further troubleshooting the issue. At that point though I mine as well just run the recovery partition for a clean Windows installation.
  3. I work in IT support and MBAM is one of my go to tools for cleaning systems up. I have an HP Pavilion that come across my desk and in my normal routine I attempted to install and scan with the latest download of MBAM. At the very end of the scan malwarebytes crashes with the message Malwarebytes has stopped working. I typically use a custom scan where I enable rootkits in the scan and select the C: drive. As a troubleshooting step I did attempt to use the default scan settings as well as the hyper scan. All of them crash at the same point. As a next step in troubleshooting I booted the laptop into Safe Mode with networking and then installed MBAM and scanned again. Still crashes. The system initially was using MS Security Essentials as its AV. I scanned with this and it found no items. Knowing MBAM was picking up on about 62 items I removed MSSE and installed Avast. I scanned with Avast and let it remove the items it found. I also then scanned with Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool which also found some items and removed them. I then attempted to scan with MBAM again, crashed at the end. Next I emptied the contents of C:\windows\temp and C:\users\username\appdata\local\temp. I then ran a disk cleanup. Next I performed a sfc /scannow which reported no integrity violations. I then use the mbam clean removal utility to uninstall mbam. I then installed and attempted t scan again. Still crashes. Following another thread here with the same title I generated the three logs I think you will request to look into this. I am using the same build as the other thread. I am currently trying to run a chameleon scan to see if that will succeed. Thank you in Advance for your assistance, Jason Addition.txt CheckResults.txt FRST.txt
