  1. I was able to restart the laptop using "Last good config" and it restored the services and drivers that I unchecked..
  2. Uh, I did that, but after I attempt to restart, my laptop blue screens with the msg problem has been detected and windows was shut down. I tried safe mode as well but I haven't been able to move beyond the blue screen.
  3. It freezes both times... (unchecking the Logon items and uninstalling the PC Doctor).
  4. Sorry for the belated reply, I have attached the Autoruns.zip. Thanks so much for your help! AutoRuns.zip
  5. Thanks.... Is there any setting that'd ask MBAM not to use this "DDA driver" in normal mode or this is a lost cause?
  6. Quick scan froze, here's the log link: https://rapidshare.com/files/457776061/logs.rar Thanks!
  7. Quick scan in safe mode finishes fine. What makes the difference here? (So it's system, and not because I'm infected with some virus or malware that MBAM scan freezes?) Thanks.
  8. I have cleaned and reinstalled MBAM. I'm running it with the heuristic shuriken setting turned off. (With this on, it freezes on some registry item.) But now it freezes on desktop.ini. I have attached the file, and I would be grateful if someone could help me out. Thanks! desktop.zip
  9. Thanks. After installing the newest Beta version, it moves past the 1 second stage, but stops a minute later on irenum.sys. Again, I had to forcefully shut down the computer. Any ideas?
  10. Hi, When I try to use MBAM (free version)'s quick scan, it freezes the entire computer within the first second (at the step of generating the list of system registry objects for scanning). Even task manager can't shut MBAM off and I have to restart my computer via the hardware way. I am using Windows XP SP3, Avira AntiVir. I have already tried the uninstall -> mbam-clean -> reinstall -> uncheck heuristic shuriken routine, but the problem persisted, so I am hoping someone here can help me figure out what's wrong. Thank you so very much in advance!
  11. I did the check disk command, but didn't do the sfc/scannow because I don't think my laptop came with an install disk (it's a Lenovo T400). Also when I ran mbma-clean, it will remove mbma fine if it's installed, but hits a "SHGetValue failed with error code 0" if mbma is already removed... Still no luck however.. still getting stuck on zipfldr.dll Thank you for your patience... (Unfortunately I have to leave for a trip tomorrow, guess this is still not resolved... could I open a new post about this when I come back?)
  12. I did that (well, I restarted computer after clicking yes then left for work, by the time I came back, there was nothing... so I suppose it doesn't generate any report?), but this time (with "Always scan registry objects" still unchecked) it froze again at zipfoldr.dll. Any suggestions on what to do next? Thanks!
  13. Yes, this time it dies even earlier, at the preparation stage when it says "enumerating registry objects"
  14. Hi all, I've done some googling on this and it appears that I'm not the only one hitting this problem. However I haven't been able to find any solution. Any suggestions on what I should do? Thanks!
