i downloaded DDS.scr now i have a black box with instructions but no desktop icon to click on

i tried to scan with hijackthis, and i wasnt able to finish the scan. box that said cannot finish because other application is busy click switch this to fix or retry. couldnt get anyone of those to work so i had to ctrl alt delete to close hijackthis? confused
