  1. I did the update yesterday and overnight the first scheduled scan occurred. I looked at the log this morning and found that it said that the rootkit scan was disabled. Yet when I went into the settings it does appear to be enabled. Which is correct? This was also happening in the previous version, but there were so many problems with that version I never said anything. 2. I would be as well, but I understand that what the power users want probably will not happen anymore. The money is made with the average user not with the users that know what is going on. Unfortunately for us, that means simple UI and controls and smiley faces.
  3. digmorcrusher was spot on. I have no idea how Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is actually coded, but you may want to take the GUI in a new direction. Write it so there are two gui's and let the user decide which you want. The way it is now for the new users, and then a more technical GUI for those of use that are more technically minded power users. To be honest, I would not mind a GUI where there were no different pages, cram everything on the front page. Possibly with buttons to take you to the settings page and to the logs. The more simple you make the GUI the more you are going to drive the power users mad. I can't imagine moving away from Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, but years ago I said much the same thing about Spybot and AdAware. I have not used either in a very long time because they have made both tools useless for the power user in me.
  4. I have to agree with others, the smiley bugs me. I also have to disagree with Corrine in one regard, if you make it pink with zebra stripes I will have to drop you, simple because I would have to suspect that someone had been experimenting in modern pharmacology at work. Other than that, Good job!
  5. Here is what I am running, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (PRO) 1.60.1.1000 Database version: v2012.03.17.08 I know there is not anything wrong with them, as a subsequent scan showed nothing. The only thing that was different between the two scans was a crash of Thunderbird during the scan.

  7. I am not sure if this would fall into a program error or a false positive, but just a bit ago I had thunderbird 11.0 crash on me. Right after it crashed (I was away from the keyboard at the time) Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware did a scheduled flash scan. During the flash scan it found several hundred Trojan files. When I got to my computer I first tried canceling the thunderbird crash report and it was frozen. Then I dealt with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware warning, and submitted the first couple of files to virustotal.com to check them out. They all came back clean, so I ended up canceling the entire results from Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. At that point the thunderbird report disappeared. I am in the process of doing a full scan of my computer with both Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and my Antivirus but I highly doubt it will find anything. Was this a glitch between two programs or a false positive?
  8. I don't know why it does it, especially as in Windows 7 it is not supposed to be allowed. I just know it does. Very irritating, but I am not about to turn off Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.
  9. The popup does make sense. I wouldn't even mind the full window except that it steals focus. If it would just flash on the taskbar that would work as well. I may just be unlucky, but it always seems to start when I am in the middle of typing something.
  10. One little feature that I would like to see added to Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is when an update is scheduled, and running a flash scan is done after the update, it would be nice if it could be done silently, or done with a small indicator near the system tray. The way it is right now, the full screen opens up. If I run a scheduled flash, quick or full scan it is done silently, just not when a flash scan is done because of an update. By the way, great tool. Keep up the work.
  11. I just had the strangest thing happen. I was trying to fix this problem, and ended up starting an update again by clicking on the icon, and then I tried canceling it. That caused a crash of my system. But after the restart, the icon is acting normally. Go figure. I had rebooted several times after the last install and it never did anything more, but a crash fixed the issue. In checking the event viewer, it only tells me the previous shutdown was unexpected.
  12. Would you believe even after the reinstall it still happens. Any idea's?
  13. I just updated to the latest released version and now I am experiencing a problem with the system tray icon. If I click on it (Left or Right) it checks for an update. The only way to get into the interface is by going thru the program list to Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. I am using a fully updated version of Vista Home Premium on a Inspiron 1520. I will probably do an uninstall, cleanup and reinstall but I was wondering if anyone else had seen this.
