  1. Using Malwarebytes AM 1.33 in quick scan mode. The program completed the scan and detected trojan.downloader on my system. It was the only item identified during the scan. I clicked the button to remove selected items and the program became unresponsive and Windows (vista-32 SP1) shut it down. Ever since then MBAM continues to scan successfully and has identified the same 12 Adware.Agent files whether in quick scan or full scan modes and when I click to remove selected items, the program reports that it has stopped working and windows shuts it down with the following entry in the Windows Application Log; Log Name: Application Source: Application Error Date: 1/28/2009 11:11:03 AM Event ID: 1000 Task Category: (100) Level: Error Keywords: Classic Description: Faulting application mbam.exe, version 1.33.0.0, time stamp 0x496e62ee, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x00000000, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x6d782e30, process id 0x16e8, application start time 0x01c9816221a975ec. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the application and also ran it in safe mode and it consistently faults when attempting to clean what it found. So I'm first of all hoping for some advice how to repair MBAM, and second, how to verify whether or not it was successful removing trojan.downloader Here is my HT log; Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 1:55:21 PM, on 2/2/2009 Platform: Windows Vista SP1 (WinNT 6.00.1905) MSIE: Internet Explorer v8.00 (8.00.6001.18241) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\Windows\system32\taskeng.exe C:\Windows\system32\Dwm.exe C:\Windows\Explorer.EXE C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPEnh.exe C:\Program Files\Analog Devices\Core\smax4pnp.exe C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP Quick Launch Buttons\QLBCTRL.exe C:\Program Files\Google\Gmail Notifier\gnotify.exe C:\Program Files\D-Link\D-Link D-ViewCam\Bin\WDSvc.exe C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\GrooveMonitor.exe C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar\sidebar.exe C:\Program Files\Google\GoogleToolbarNotifier\GoogleToolbarNotifier.exe C:\Program Files\Google\Google Calendar Sync\GoogleCalendarSync.exe C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP Quick Launch Buttons\VolCtrl.exe C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar\sidebar.exe C:\Program Files\D-Link\D-Link D-ViewCam\Bin\Control.exe C:\Program Files\D-Link\D-Link D-ViewCam\Bin\VideoProxy.exe C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static\MOM.exe C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static\CCC.exe C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPHelper.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Shared\HpqToaster.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe \ESINHFS1\Data\Scotland\scotland.exe C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~1\Office12\OUTLOOK.EXE C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe R1 -
