Transferring a Lifetime license to a new PC

Hi,

I am in the midst of setting up my new Windows 7 PC and want to know

how to go about transferring the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Pro lifetime

license I purchased on January 9, 2014 for my Windows XP PC, which I am

soon to retire from online life.

I am aware that "the license is valid for 1 PC," but does that literally

mean for1 PC, as in *one specific PC*, or does it mean one PC at a time?

In other words, if I uninstall the Pro version from my Windows XP machine,

can I re-activate the same license on my Windows 7 PC?

I'm in the same boat.  I just reformatted when I replaced my mobo and had to re-do my RAID.  I thought Jellybean had grabbed my MWB key, but now I see that it did not.

How can I get the key re-issued?

Hello Third: :welcome:

Please tell us if you purchased MBAM as a boxed consumer product from a retail store, or did you purchase MBAM from an Internet vendor with no physical delivery?

Thank you. :)

Hi, folks:

In addition to 1PW's advice:

Yes, 1.xx consumer lifetime licenses for 1 PC stay the same for 2.xx: lifetime, but for 1 PC.

It can be transferred to a different PC, but not to a different person.

If you lost the ID/key because the HDD is unbootable or was reformatted:

>>If you purchased a boxed CD, the ID/key will be in the box (either on the CD sleeve or on a card).

>>If you purchased online from MBAM store, the license ID/key info will be in an email sent from the e-commerce partner, cleverbridge, at the time of the purchase.

If you don't have that email, the info will be on file with the e-commerce partner, cleverbridge.

Their contact info is here: How do I obtain my license key?

They can look it up for you.

>>The process for transferring a lifetime license (or even a new 2.x subscription license) involves running the mbam-clean removal tool and rebooting the "old" computer.

That will remove the license info from the old computer.

Then the license can be used to activate 2.x Premium on the new rig.

This topic hasn't been updated for 2.x Premium, but the process is the same:

How do I transfer a licensed Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO to my new computer?

NOTE: If you have MBAM 2.x Self-Protection enabled, please disable it before running mbam-clean on the old computer.
