  1. Howdy, Yes, I left out the part about "from a known clean PC, not...". Thanks for catching that Advanced! I've been on this machine too long today.
  2. Howdy, sounds to me like you got phished. Is your steam account in any way linked to your gmail? You said earlier that you had been able to log back in to your mail and tried to change things, were/are you able to get into your gmail? As a safety precaution you should change all of your passwords on this machine. You said an MBAM scan was clean but posting your HJT log in the Malware Removal - HijackThis Logs forum might be the best for now. Please make sure you read this before posting your HJT Log - I'm infected - What do I do now?.
  3. Howdy, Did you look in the trash can of your gmail account to see if those mails are there?
  4. Howdy, What do you mean by "stolen"? Which email client are you using? This info will help decide in which direction to go.
  5. Howdy, I've also got Avira AntiVir running - which is, theoretically, not "compatible". One thing I noticed is that even after putting a bunch of stuff on it, it still runs nice. I have not gotten it to crash - yet! I intend to load it with everything I have running on XP Pro or as much as will work. If it runs after that then great. It's just a matter of playing and tweaking then.
  6. Howdy, Just finished up installing MBAM on 7. So far so good. Anyone else working this?
  7. How to make your Internet Explorer more secure. This can be done by following these simple instructions: (unless you are using ZoneAlarm Security Suite or something similar, then you would secure the browser thru the firewall). From within Internet Explorer click on the Tools menu and then click on Options. Click once on the Security tab Click once on the Internet icon so it becomes highlighted. Click once on the Custom Level button. Change the Download signed ActiveX controls to Prompt Change the Download unsigned ActiveX controls to Disable Change the Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe to Disable Change the Installation of desktop items to Prompt Change the Launching programs and files in an IFRAME to Prompt Change the Navigate sub-frames across different domains to Prompt When all these settings have been made, click on the OK button. If it prompts you as to whether or not you want to save the settings, press the Yes button. Next press the Apply button and then the OK to exit the Internet Properties page. Use a different browser other than IE (most exploits are pointed towards IE). One of them is Firefox. It is also worth trying Thunderbird for controlling spam in your e-mail.
  8. Howdy, 1 min. is quite nice considering it has to decide if it wants to go to recovery console or just start normally. You need to check your start ups and get rid of anything unnecessary. MB has a nice little program StartUpLite that can be downloaded from here. Safe Surfing!
  9. Howdy, Reset your modem/router. There should be a button somewhere on it that will allow you to reset it. Also just to make sure you are clean you might want to post an HJT log here. Make sure to read the pinned topics at the top of the forum.
  10. Howdy, Make sure you download any software from safe sources. The best place to download MBAM is here: http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-...&tag=button To ensure you have the newest version delete the version you have and install from above download.
  11. Howdy MBAM crew, Found this at CastleCops http://www.castlecops.com/postitle228363-0-0-.html
  12. Howdy, Where to register for the affiliate?
