  1. Thanks-I was finally able to get rid of the Trojan (after 4 days and countless hours) by browsing thru this forum for ideas. The key was to use Icesword to delete the persistant Registry keys, and the Browsel.dll file(force delete). I first used Malware log to get the list of keys that I selected with Icesword to delete. Previously I had used various tools that were unsuccessful in deleteing these keys and the one file. Combofix, SDfix,Hijackthis(to delete the BHO unsuccessfully) and several others would detect the Trojan but the Trojan would return on a reboot. I also uninstalled the Java JRE just to be safe. Thanks for this excellent site and all the contributors hard work-fantastic resource.
  2. I am running Windows XP Pro. I can not get it any software to remove the Trojan (I guess it is a variant of the Vundu, Boaaxe, etc) - windows explorer is very slow , IE runs slow etc. I ran Malwarebytes which detects the Trojan and tries to delete on reboot - however this is unsuccessful. I tried removing Browsel.dll which runs constantly via regedit (delete keys) and also deleting the windows\system32\browsel.dll file using other delete tools unsuccessfully. On reboot these keys and the Browsel.dll file is back. I have run Malwarebytes full scan, quick scan etc multiple times unsuccessfully. Am out of options (have tried just about everything out there from a Trojan killer software). I do not have the option of booting up the laptop from cd/usb to a separate OS and then deleting the file on the c: drive since my harddrive is encrypted. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
