Please try this on the computer that is having an issue.

1. Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware using Add/Remove programs in the control panel.

2. Restart your computer (very important).

3. Download and run this utility. mbam-clean.exe

4. It will ask to restart your computer (please allow it to).

5. After the computer restarts, install the latest version from here. mbam-setup.exe

Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent

Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.

Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray and that you can run a quick scan and all is working as expected.

I've got exactly the same problem, but I have Windows Vista. I follow all your steps, but nothing happens. It still doesn't run. I have downloaded the free version of Anti-malware. The only part I don't get is that I have to reactivate the program using the lisence I was sent- I don't have a lisence, maybe because I use the free version. It's also strange that yesterday the program was working, but today I get this 383 error.

Could you help me, please?

If the directions by AdvancedSetup will not fix your problems please read on -

At the bottom of the error codes shown in the link below please find and download Microsoft Visual Basics 6.0 Common Controls -

http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.p...st&p=162096

This may help if you still have problems - Please note 383 is a Microsoft Error code -

Thank You - :)

I followed these steps yesterday. I was able to use MBAM once right after installation, but today the same 383 error is displayed. BTW, I don't use the registered version. I will now try the Microsoft fix suggested by noknojon.
