Malwarebytes hangs

Can you tell us what folder or file it hangs on? What antivirus software are you using?

Sometimes hangs can happen if you have some corrupt files on you hard drive. Try running a check disk on the hard drive.

Please try the following. It should take at least 10 minutes to a couple of hours depending on the speed of your computer.

You may have corrupted files on your disk. Please try running the following.

First close ALL Applications as this routine will automatically restart your computer.

Click on START - RUN and copy / paste the following entry into the box and click OK

CMD /C ECHO Y|CHKDSK C: /R | SHUTDOWN /R /T 30

Hello sophie2 and welcome to MalwareBytes forums.

What is your Windows version? What antivirus program is installed? Does the system have other anti-malware apps besides MBAM?

Please see the MBAM FAQ - Common Issues, Questions, and their Solutions

and be sure to set Trust Exclusions in both your antivirus and in MBAM

After doing that, try a new run with Full scan.
