  1. Ditto here. Database version: 1815 with today's date.
  2. Gabian.. If you haven't resolved your issue, and on the outside chance you weren't referring to automatic updates (as suggested in the above thread) maybe this will offer some help: "Error loading database" http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.p...amp;#entry35699 While the below might not have the very latest database version, you could also give that a try. I'm not sure what happened in your case, but I know in the past, at times the error can come about as a result of a lost or bad connection, resulting in a corrupted database. http://malwarebytes.gt500.org/database.jsp Carol
  3. Did you update first? According to your log it indicates Database version: 1357. I believe you're one update short. Carol
  4. Thanks, Bruce. All's well and the scan is clear. I've never been more impressed by the quick responses.. anywhere! Carol
  5. A couple of members at CNET, found MBAM to detect SpywareGuard and Fake Alert. It don't see where anyone has been reported yet. I did a scan and also found the following. I suspect it will be corrected "in short order" , as it always has. Thanks. Carol Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.30 Database version: 1356 Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 11/2/2008 4:36:00 PM mbam-log-2008-11-02 (16-35-39).txt Scan type: Quick Scan Objects scanned: 50486 Time elapsed: 5 minute(s), 36 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 2 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 1 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{4a368e80-174f-4872-96b5-0b27ddd11db2} (Trojan.FakeAlert) -> No action taken. 6. Such service! Quick and with a smile, no less! Thanks, Raid. It's much appreciated. Carol If I might add
  7. May I assume my log shows traces of "a long dead virus ( which was never detected before)"? And that Bruce 'added a new location where MBAM looks for malware GUIDs' as was indicated in another post? OR.... are ALL my assumptions incorrect? This a first for me and I only found it on a routine scan. Strangely, all prior scans have always been clean. Should this be marked for .. "deletion" "quarantined" or just "ignored"? Thanks in advance.. 8. Thanks again, Tim. Having never seen the 'long sequence of numbers' in my logs before, and never having saved a log in developers mode, I "shudda" thought to include it. 'Shudda cudda'.. it's history now! I do appreciate you taking the time to explain it.
  9. Hi Tim... Thankfully, I saw your post while editing mine for the "umpteenth" time. I wrote in my original post, "if the mode includes the long sequence of number's at the end of the log, all you need do is ask". (I wasn't sure it if was necessary) For my own edification and knowledge, is that what Tigger meant when he said it wasn't a developer mode log? I didn't think Marcin's instructions for saving a log in developer mode was rocket science, but I've been knocking myself out trying to figure what I could have done wrong. Thanks again. Carol
  10. Tigger.. Is this log you were referring to? Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.28 Database version: 1226 Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 10/1/2008 7:40:21 PM mbam-log-2008-10-01 (19-40-21).txt Scan type: Quick Scan Objects scanned: 17768 Time elapsed: 3 minute(s), 51 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 0 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: (No malicious items detected) Folders Infected: (No malicious items detected) Files Infected: (No malicious items detected) I saved the log according to Marcin's instructions. The first log I posted was copied and "saved" to a different location. The above is from the program itself. If the above is also incorrect...... I'm stumped! Kindly, let me know what I need to do to correct this.
  11. A fellow member at CNET, reported MBAM detected the CBO_Setup_4.26.exe as Trojan.Vundo. He felt it might be a f/p, as I did. I downloaded BOClean's lastest installer (CBO_Setup_4.27.exe) to my desktop. MBAM detected Vundo. The log was saved in "devoloper mode". If the mode includes the long sequence of number's at the end of the log, all you need do is ask. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.28 Database version: 1226 Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 10/1/2008 9:07:29 PM mbam-log-2008-10-01 (21-06-57).txt Scan type: Quick Scan Objects scanned: 48339 Time elapsed: 4 minute(s), 8 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 1 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: (No malicious items detected) Folders Infected: (No malicious items detected) Files Infected: C:\Documents and Settings\Carol \Desktop\CBO_Setup_4.27.exe (Trojan.Vundo) -> No action taken. 12. I'm glad I was able to make a small contribution. Looking forward to "StartUpLite"! Carol
  13. I realized that afterwards, Jean. I also thought, that only beginning with one specific word, it would then narrow down the possibilities for some very good names. Thanks for pointing it out. I shall try to expand my thinking. (But not tonight. It's too late. )
  14. MysteryFCM.. FWIW. As long as you're "playing", my thinking is .. if it begins with "Start", it might come up in a Google search quicker. Not that it would be needed, but every little bit helps. Something to consider?? Or not. My Carol
  15. StartSmart (But ....... StartSlim & StartLite paint a more accurate picture. IMHO) Edit: OOps.. I hadn't seen the last 3 posts.
