  1. Thank you very, very much for the reassurance nosirrah. Please, no need for apologies, either. You guys at MBAM are among the best when it comes to speedy response, helpful advice, and effective tools. Nothing to apologize over! I'm sorry if I blew a small issue out of proportion with panicky posts Thanks again for the help!
  2. Awesome. Thanks very much for this... Just to be clear, though, before I restore from quarantine: Does this mean that these scan results were both false positives, and that I should not worry about them? I'm trying to decide if I need to panic and reformat/change all passwords right now, but I don't want to do that if I don't have to.
  3. Hi Fom! Just throwing my two cents in here. This morning I got the same Extension.Mismatch warning on the exact same file. C:\Windows\Installer\{048298C9-A4D3-490B-9FF9-AB023A9238F3}\Icon048298C92.url This was on top of a suspicious reading from MBAM regarding vcredist type executables from Steam, so I'm thinking there's a chance for a false positive here. So, at the very least, you're not alone! Also, I have samples of this file, if they are desired. Thanks to everyone (particularly nosirrah!) for the input here.
  4. Hi all. This morning after fearing a Blackhat SEO attack, I ran a Malwarebytes scan and found the following: Submission of both files to Virustotal gave me no malicious results. I can provide samples from quarantine, if necessary. Could someone please advise on both? I notice the vcredist executable has been submitted by other users, but I see nothing about the one hiding in the installer directory... Thanks for any help!
  5. Hello. I typically use MalwareBytes AntiMalware as an on-demand scanner once (or more) per week alongside ESET NOD32 antivirus. I noticed that MBAM has been recently upgraded to v1.42, and I have some questions briefly: 1.) Will the 'Update' feature of MBAM preform the version update? Or will I need to download the new version, uninstall the old one, and install the new one manually? 2.) I've heard this new update requires a reboot. Is this true if I'm only using MBAM as an on-demand scanner? Updates to programs which require reboots typically result in my system becoming non-functioning. I don't see any reason MBAM should need to reboot my system if I'm not running the resident scanner. 3.) I've heard that there are a number of false-positives introduce with this update. Are these rumors substantiated, and how can I discern a false positive from a real one? Thank you.
