Scan found something

Recommended Posts

I just installed MB on my new Acer Aspire One net-book and it came up with the following error:

Vendor: Fake.Driver

Category: Registry Key

Items: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSelf\Services

Other:

Action Taken: No action taken

I am so frightened that this might be something terrible and that this new computer is broken before I even had a chance to use it.

Can someone help please?

Alice

Aloha - I was concerned about the same error, found a similar thread over in the false positives section though which put my mind to rest a little (though I'm still doing a full scan because I am a naturally super paranoid person): http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=12426

Post a developer log so they can figure it out...see the post by "exile360"

#1- What is a developer log? Is it necessary to post one if so many others have also posted their logs?

#2- If I remember correctly, when we first got the Acer and installed the MB, there were 5 F/Ts found. MB has always worked well on our other computers and now it seems to be 'acting up.'

the 1st question: please post a developer log by going to Start clicking on Run and typing the following in the Run box and hitting enter (or you can copy and paste it):

CODE

mbam /developer

Then run the quick scan when MBAM opens and post the resulting log here.

Download the current updates 1833, Its a False Pos... and rescan, as I did and it was gone

Better yet follow the above post.......
