  1. Thanks. I am running an older version of ZomeAlarm and I know that there were issues with system lock ups over Christmas. Has this been fixed in the latest version or am I going to have problems with this. I am still running version 1.51.2. 1300
  2. When I boot my Windows XP pro machine I get a Malwarebytes error message MBAMService Terminated Unexpectedly: see event log for details I click on OK and the machine continues. If I then try and start MBytes I get the following message:- PROGRAM_ERROR_LOAD_ DATABASE(2,2,CreateSDK) The System Cannot Find the File Specified What should I do to fix this problem? thanks Mark
  3. I think that I started in safe mode with networking but I cannot be 100% sure now. I see a download new version blue link under the Malwarebytes Update tab. I will try this later after I get back from the dentist. I want to see if this hp machine locks like my Dell machine did with the early ZoneAlarm software and if the beta patch will fix it as it did on my Dell. I am sure that you would like to know as well. I will report back later.
  4. A few days ago, I received a notification that my Malwarebytes was going to update when I rebooted my pc. This morning I finally rebooted into safe Mode and my Malwarebytes did not update. I then booted normally into Windows XP Pro SP3 and I am still at version 1.51.2.1300. Why didn't the update occur I wonder. Mark
  5. I have turned off my automatic update but not it time. My pc is now waiting for a reboot to install the latest flawed version. Can I prevent this from happening? Is there a place where the new files are located ready for the update. Is it in the temp files area and can I delete them and prevent the update. I really want to prevent this update from occuring. Can anyone help me on this? I had hoped that a fix would have been published by now. I am going to have to reboot this machine soon. It has been running for several days now and a reboot is imminent. thanks Mark
  6. Yes my Dell machine that was locked up by malwarebytes is running XP Home SP2. So it is not specifically an SP3 issue. Mark
  7. Yes I was lucky to know about safe mode and msconfig. The majority of pc users have no idea what is going on. A bonanza for the pc repair shops I expect. Do not underestimate the damage that something like this can do a company's reputation and bottom line profits.
  8. I can't believe that you said that. You have no idea of how many machines are messed up world wide. No idea at all. I have 3 here and I am just one user. Mark
  9. Thank you. Now to uninstall Malwarebytes should I just run mbam-clean.exe or should I use the Windows program uninstall utility and then run mbam-clean.exe afterwards. thanks Mark
  10. Can some one point me to a good source where I can download Malwarebytes Version 1.51.2.1300. thanks Mark
  11. I am with you on that one. I intend to keep my ZA firewall come what may. I have dumped several AV programs which had become incompatible with ZA either by accident or deliberately (in one case). I hope that Malwarebytes doesn't go the same way. Mark
  12. I don't want to update the MBytes prog because it wont work with my PC. I have 3 pc's in my office all running the same sort of configurations and I have already had lockup issues with my Dell machine and have had to disable MBytes using SafeMode on that pc to get it to boot again. I anticipate similar problems with this machine (my HP Laptop) Right now Mbytes (vers 1300) is working well but it won't be after the reboot update to Vers 1800. A perfectly working program (MBytes) will be a non working prog after the reboot Mark
  13. My pc is going to update to version 1800 when I reboot. Is there any way to stop this happening now? I have saved all the vers 1300 files to another directory. I suppose that I will have to uninstall MBytes and reinstall vers 1.51.2.1330 but can I just bring the old files back over instead? thanks Mark
  14. I have a similar lockup problem on my Dell PC running Avira and an earlier version of Zone Alarm 4.5.594.0000. I see that Malwarebytes has updated on my other HP laptop. I won't reboot the HP machine. Is there any way to prevent the update from occurring. I hope that this gets fixed soon.
