  1. You know, I was a bit dubious, expecting yet another support nightmare from yet another Internet company, and my first phone call seemed to support that. I had no idea what the young man on the phone wanted, order number? It has been so long that I have no idea, he actually just hung up when I said I did not understand what he needed. The Second young man I spoke to listened to me tell him the same thing, I had no idea what he needed, then he just asked for my email address, verified a couple of things, and re-sent the license key email complete with a refreshed download link. So now, thanks to the forums here and that young man, I am up and running again. Happy customer, case closed.
  2. Worked like a charm. I guess the uninstall leaves files behind, but mbam-clean.exe removes all traces? What does it remove that the uninstall doesn't? (Just curious) Now let's hope I can get my registration information back. It has been a long time since I first entered it, and I have lost that email....I already contacted support.
  3. Hello. I am stuck. This evening I tried to right click my MBAM tray icon, and there was a menu with no options. I stopped the service, restart it, still nothing. I uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, now whenever the tray icon appears, the MBAM service crashes. Also, the scanner, "closes unexpectedly" whenever I try to run it. I removed Spybot, I removed Antivir., restarted, installed MBAM again, restarted, same thing. Here are my event logs: -------- Fault bucket , type 0 Event Name: APPCRASH Response: Not available Cab Id: 0 Problem signature: P1: mbamservice.exe P2: 1.60.0.25 P3: 4eea3ac1 P4: mbamcore.dll P5: 1.60.0.52 P6: 4eea37f7 P7: c0000005 P8: 00060ae0 P9: P10: Attached files: These files may be available here: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportQueue\AppCrash_mbamservice.exe_2a2a8fb2f60b22f26228785f42467e715a850aa_1f65b26d (this file was not there) Analysis symbol: Rechecking for solution: 0 Report Id: d808d857-368b-11e1-adc6-001d098172cf Report Status: 4 ----------- Faulting application name: mbamservice.exe, version: 1.60.0.25, time stamp: 0x4eea3ac1 Faulting module name: mbamcore.dll, version: 1.60.0.52, time stamp: 0x4eea37f7 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00060ae0 Faulting process id: 0x17fc Faulting application start time: 0x01ccca987c3ba458 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamcore.dll Report Id: d808d857-368b-11e1-adc6-001d098172cf -----------
  4. Thanks for this answer. I appreciate it and it clears a lot up.
  5. In order to report a false positive, one must scan run mbam.exe /developer then rescans the directory and post a lost file to the forums. Most of the time my false positives are found while the machine is idle and I have not run a scan, I jsut come back and there is a warning. MBAM then locks my machine up requiring a restart. There should be a much easier way to report false positives, something automated directly from the detection dialog. A button to take you to the forums with ready information. A single, one step button to report false positives, or an easier way to gain the information needed for a false positive report would be nice. If I moderator could move this post over to the Comments and Suggestions thread to prevent a double post I would appreciate it.
  6. Hello. I absolutely love MBAM. However, there are going to be false positives with heuristics. Right now almost all of Nirsoft's utilities are coming up as false positives. My feature requests are: An easier way to report false positives. Possibly a button on the alert to send an email or take you to the forums with all the info you need already there to copy or filled in. An easier way to add to ignore list for both files and IP addresses. Again, possibly a button on the alert dialog that says "Add to Ignore List" which instantly adds it to ignore. Thanks for the product!
  7. Change is good. Thank you, appears to be working. (Insert sigh of relief here)
  8. I understand, thank you for the reply. Is the an ETA on the update that addresses this?
  9. I have no idea the etiquette here, but can I ask what the issue was? As I said above, I hate to ask for support, I prefer to figure it out on my own if possible. It's an old person thing. Also, again, thank you SO much. I depend on Speedcommander as a file manager, FTP program and more.
  10. Sorry, I was posting as you posted. Could you elaborate further? I am assuming that "one update delay" means a fix in the update after next? If so, THANK YOU so much. I always try to solve a problem myself before asking for assistance, and this has been a bit frustrating. Again, thank you!
  11. Sorry for the double post, I cannot edit my posts as of yet. Here is a screenshot of the error. I ran MBAM.exe /developer and did a flash scan with Speedcommander running to be sure and to see if that would help. It caught nothing. I wish there were a way I could scan the directory only using the /developer switch. I then ran a quick scan with the same result, no detections. Running a full scan again, this time with Speedcommander running, but I expect the same result as the last few times I tried it. 12. http://www.sp-download.de/sc13/sc13.exe is a direct link, and http://www.speedproject.de/enu/download.html is the main download page if they do not allow linking. I really do appreciate your help. MBAM has been a lifesaver so to speak and I hate the need to disable it. I am sure it has something to do with the networking in the program. It only throws up that warning when starting it, not when scanning the directory. However, there are several other executables in the directory with Speedcommander, none of them throw a detection when scanning the directory, but they may be the cause?
  13. I actually did read those and have been trying to figure this out for weeks. The detection does not happen on a scan, as I stated above. The detection only happens upon running the program, therefore using the /developer switch will not work. When scanning the directory there is no detection.
  14. Hello, I am a user of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware v1.46, licensed. I use a program called "Speedcommander", a file manager which I purchased and have used for years. Whenever starting Speedcommander MBAM reports "DETECTION C:\temp Trojan.Dropper" which is a false positive. However, when scanning the install directory MBAM detects nothing. Only when starting Speedcommander does MBAM show that alert. There is nowhere I can add the executable(s) to an ignore list. Speedcommander is LAN friendly and I have mapped a network directory on my main PC as a drive on my Netbook. Now since I recently installed Speedcommander on my Netbook, whenever I start it the same alert comes up from MBAM on the main PC which freezes Speedcommander on my Netbook since MBAM will not allow it to run without interaction on my main PC. How can I report a false positive or add the Speedcommander process to the ignore list? What other information can I give you that will help? Thank you in advance.
