Good review. However, I noticed in the related videos, there were ones that claimed to have keygens and what not for MBAM. Dunno if they're actually keygens or viruses, but I wonder if Rubber Ducky should notify the Youtube peoples.

I like the GUI, simple and straightforward. I like the shortcut icon also, the red M fits so well next to my blue avast A.

The program itself, yes. However, real-time protection will not work on it, yet.

One of the great things about MBAM, a one-time fee. Unless I horribly missed something, the registration will cover you for life.

You can create a new restore point, and delete the previous ones. I dunno which OS you are using, though. You'll want to first, if you're clean, go to Start Menu > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore and create a new one. In XP, you go to Control Panel > System Tools (I think, on a Vista right now) > "Clean up space on your hard disk" After it sees the room you can get with compressing files and whatnot, there'll be a More Options tab. If you select that, itll have a option that will delete all but the newest Restore Point. On Vista...Lemme see... It would seem to be something like: Start Menu > Control Panel > Performance Information and Tools > click on the side where it says Open Disk cleanup. I assume it'll have the option there.

I'd love to install Malwarebytes but...

Adaware used to be the program for anti-spyware, but it has gotten bloated and not as effective. I've never used S&D, so I can't say anything about that. However, I've found MBAM to be the best anti-malware on the market today. I've got the full version for my laptop, and it hasn't caused me any problems. -
Hi there, Did you download the setup file from the infected computer? If you did, download the file onto a usb drive from a different computer, then transfer it to the infected one and see if you can get it to run. If you tried that, I think you have to try renaming the setup file, to fool the malware into thinking it isn't MBAM.

Judging by these other two threads with almost the same file path, it seems to be a trace of a long gone malware. http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=7028 http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=7014

I started using FF a few years ago when IE wouldn't work on the first forums I ever went to, used it ever since. FF3 is aight. Though pretty much the first extension I used on it was trying to get the FF2 address bar.

All righty. *thumb up*

So they're harmless, but unnecessary?

I couldn't see any edit button... *tear* After posting this I saw the "Before Posting" topic, lol! If it's likely that these are false positives, I'll redo the scan in developer mode, but I won't if you're are certain these are legit results.

I'm making sure the computer at our business is secure, so I ran a scan with Avast, which we already had on it, then I decided to dl MBAM to make sure it was clean. It came up with 3 results. I quarantined and deleted them, but then when I was looking to see wat they were about, it seemed like they could be false positives, so I came here to make sure it's safe to restore them.
