When looking what autostarts on my computer with the program autoruns.exe (good tip by the way)

I found this entry in the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\ ):

naamloos2k.jpg

A search with Google didn't find a (program)source of this file.

One search was a page which says this file is mallware but today all this sites are saying

any file is (possible) mallware to sell their software so I don't trust that. ( spydig.com/file-diagnosis/WIASF-AX.html)

Mallwarebytes or other AV programs seems not detect this as a treath.

My question is if this file could be related to digital camera programs or Skype/Pinnacle drivers

or other programs.

Filesize is 40.448 bytes / file date: september 11, 2002 / Copyright

Hello Wijllie:

Since you haven't yet received a more authoritative reply, I'm relating what I've found.

The file is present on Microsoft Windows install media in the I386 folder as WIASF.AX_ and therefore it's malware threat level, IMHO, is likely as close to zero as possible.

On an XP Home SP3 x86-32bit system of mine, the file is at C:\WINDOWS\system32\wiasf.ax, and if the md5hash for your file is bef31ef51a02f4e18a06eb1806f51403 then VirusTotal reports VirusTotal Report Summary

As far as purpose goes, the file does seem to be "imaging related".

HTH

Thanks for your help HTH, much apreciated! :P

Hello name cool:

In a post I made in a recent thread, in this forum, "Malicious Processes" I sited this website as sometimes having questionable value.

Try looking up mbam.exe there. Notice they haven't decided yet if mbam.exe is harmful or not!

YMMV

Hello.

Yes, the information may be incomplete or it was under study. For this site I think it is Microsoft Certified for it.

Yes, I tried it but no result
