New Scheduling Log Option and Application Logs Filter

This is for Malwarebytes 2.0.

Perhaps we can have an addition Logging Option for a scheduled scan to control whether a log is saved if the scan returns nothing. For Hyper scans that are scheduled every day, this will help sort out the Application Logs and keep unnecessary logs out.

Additionally perhaps the Application Logs section can also have a filter for type and a date range.

I don't know how to edit my post, so I'm replying.

In regards to the suggestion of having a filter for the Application Logs, perhaps a check box to hide scan logs that didn't find anything. Then I can still save my weekly threat scans but still sort through them easily if I need to regurgitate a log which had a hit.

Hi,Jamestec, and :welcome:

I like both of the ideas in post 1.

As for editing, you can do so once you have recorded 100 posts in the forum.

As for filtering, with huge amounts of logs, that might take a bit more time than just not having empty logs there at all,  I myself would prefer the first option, but I could agree on at the very least having the filter method available instead of nothing.

Thanks for taking the time to suggest feedback.

I am really going crazy.. but before I continue... I AM NOT computer savvy at all!!!

I need replies in english not computer lingo.

Step by simple step..

Now my problem

I do not want.. repeat do not want this Malware thing to scan my computer every freaking hour! I am sick of it!

I have gone into scheduling and said schedule scan 1x a week at such and such time.. and then I hit "Ok",

But does it do that? NO!!

Again, every hour on the hour it scans... and when I go back to scheduling..it nothing is there, meaning as though I did not schedule a scan. I AM NOT fond of 2.0. Every Time I like a program or a product.. the update comes and screws up everything... I want to go back to 1.75 pro...

So PLEASE Somebody tell how to get this scan to stop..and let ME DECIDE when to scan... not the program.

Thank you

@ TracyLee55: :)

Sorry you are having scheduler issues -- it might be a simple case of having too many tasks scheduled.

We will be happy to help you to sort this out.
However, this is actually the comments section and it will be hard to provide support to multiple users for different issues in 1 thread here.

In order to better assist you, I would suggest the following:
1. Please run the scanner tool as described below -- it will produce 1 log (checkresults.txt) on your desktop.
2. Please start a new post >>HERE<< and attach that log to your post.

That will assist the staff/experts in sorting out your issue.

Thanks!

Please run mbam-check and send back the log.

  • Download mbam-check.exe from HERE and save it to your desktop
  • Double-click on mbam-check.exe to run it, it should then open a log file
  • Please do not copy and paste the entire contents of the log into your next post; instead please attach to your next reply the CheckResults.txt log file which should now be located on your desktop.
