  1. Are there moderators out there to look at my problem? MBAM now says I have 32 days remaining. Thank you.
  2. I was prompted to update MBAM a little while ago, so I did. The "My Account" page shows the old form of IDentifier and Key. The state is "licensed" but the duration shows 45 days remaining. This is a license I purchased for myself back in 2010. Any idea what happened? Another PC in my home office updated also and says it's a lifetime license. Randy C
  3. Thank you, Celee, that's good information. Randy C
  4. I am a reseller of MBAM. I received your reminder that 24 March, 2014 will be the end of the lifetime subscription offering. My question is this: When V2.0 comes out and new licenses become subscription-based, when will the license "begin to expire?" I usually buy licenses in bulk, 10 at a time, if they begin to expire as soon as I purchase them, then someone may be buying a 9 month long subscription, if I've held the license for 3 months, for example. AVG allows the purchase of "sales numbers," which are like licenses but don't begin their life until converted to licenses. Randy C
  5. I did - I reached out to a user named "moogle". Someone named "Ms. Kline" asked me for my email, which I provided. I never heard back. Randy
  6. Back in October, 2013, I asked about the cost of Techbench for an existing tech License user. i've asked a couple of times since and still haven't heard anything. Please? Randy
  7. Thanks, Moogle (Ms. Kline) for the update.
  8. Some questions: 1) Is the USB key bootable? Or, is it only used when the infected PC is still up? 2) Is the USB key read/write protected using a hardware switch? I am concerned it will be wiped out by whatever has infected the PC undergoing repair. 3) I realize there is an introductory price, but, as a tech who has been paying the $100 USD fee for the technician license for some years, does that fee count, in any way, towards the price of the USB key? Thank you. Randy C.
  9. I was a corporate tech for nearly 30 years, until they said "the door's over there - don't let it hit you on the way out." That was in 2002. Many of my client's want to know how and when (sometimes they are concerned about their children) they got attacked. I think knowing when the uninstall happened could/would be useful. The example I gave was for a client who had paid versions of AVG and MBAM - and both got removed without their knowledge or permission. I do have a paid technician license (and reseller for both commercial and non-commercial licenses) for anyone who thinks I'm a freeloader. I was a developer for many of those corporate years - I know what I'm asking for - just would like to know if my request will be considered. Thank you. Randy
  10. I have a suggestion relating to the uninstall function of Malwarebytes. Perhaps log entries could be made, both in the MBAM log itself, and to the Eventviewer logging function, whenever MBAM is uninstalled. Why? Simply this. I ran into a case the other day, where AVG, MBAM and GoToAssist were uninstalled by malware (a fake AV - XP Security 2012). The only evidence I had of the uninstalls were the AVG Eventviewer log entries and the web site request for the reason for the uninstall of AVG. A request for AVG (not your business, I know) would be for them to distinguish between silent uninstalls via a command line and that done by Add/Remove programs (XP) or Programs and Features (Vista/7). I intend to ask for that. I don't know if MBAM offers command line uninstalls, too, but if so, it would be great to be able to distinguish between various types of uninstalls. I believe it would help in diagnosing what went wrong - and when. Even if not, a log of the uninstall time (and perhaps user name) would be very helpful. Thanks for listening. Randy
  11. I have been a non-commercial reseller for some time. Several months ago, I applied to be a commercial reseller. I never heard anything back, but went to check on my account the other day and found it was ONLY for commercial reselling. I need to be able to sell both types of licenses. Is this the correct forum to ask for assistance? If not, please point me in the correct direction. Thanks, RandyC
  12. Firefox - that's great! Thank you! The section that includes registry updates for direct access to McAfee looks good. That's doable even if he does not get the admin access he needs. Even if the registry section isn't exact, I should be able to find the matching section. Thanks, again, for your efforts. Randy
  13. Firefox, My user is a single individual running a computer at home. He was sold the McAfee service by iYogi last year (he thinks). I spent a good deal of time with him this morning doing a further clean out of his system. As soon as I un-installed MBAM and ran the mbam-clean tool, the system ran just fine. I tried to get into McAfee to add MBAM as excluded items but I/he cannot log onto the Admin Logon function the program seems to require. He is trying to get McAfee to help him get into it. If he is successful, then I will put MBAM back in, else, I will take back the license and refund his money. The official name of the product is McAfee Security-as-a -Service. Randy C.
