Possible root kit virus on my computer

Recommended Posts

Downloaded malware root kit virus tool and tried to run it and got this error (2 of them):

Error box #1 said:     Could not load DDA driver.   DDA driver was not installed which may be caused by rootkit activity.    Do you want to reboot the compuer to install DDA driver (scan will continue after reboot)?  Yes or no option

Error box #2 said: Could not install driver on boot.  Scan can't continue.  Box is there to click on Ok.

When I clicked on reboot, it said the above error #2.   We do not have windows vista on our computer, we have windows XP.

Does anyone know why this is not allowing us to reboot and how do we correct it?
