MBAM Protection Partially Enabled

Recommended Posts

Hello:

I have been using Malwarebytes for a few years now, with no problems.  I recently purchased a Pro version and installed on my Mom's Win Vista machine.

My problem is that Protection is only partially enabled.  I have uninstalled a couple of times using the DVD, and the problem continues.  The malicious website blocking is the module of Protection that will not enable.    Please respond with helpful information.

Hi, Chas07:

Welcome.

Sorry you are having trouble fully activating the realtime protection modules of MBAM PRO.

You mention that you have reinstalled from the "DVD" -- the program version on the disk might be older (it's generally suggested to install from a fresh download of the program), and it's possible that you might not have used the cleanup utility to uninstall?

So, assuming a reboot did not resolve the issue, let's try this first -- please use Method 1 here: MBAM Clean Removal Process.

(Be sure to reboot when asked, after running mbam-clean.)

Then, please post back and let us know if that resolved your issue.

If not, we'll go from there.

Thanks,

Hello:

I followed your instructions and used the removal tool.  I also disabled anti-virus and downloaded the Malwarebytes program and installed.  The results of this did not resolve my issue.  The Malicious Website Module did not enable.  Please send further helpful information.  Thanks in advance for your response.

Hello and :welcome:

Since the clean install did not resolve your issue, then please provide the requested logs below so we can review them and see what may be going on....

Please run the tools below and ATTACH (do not copy and paste) the logs so someone can better assist you.

Please post an mbam-check log:

Create an mbam-check log:

  • Download mbam-check.exe from here and save it to your desktop
  • Double-click on mbam-check.exe to run it, it should then open a log file
  • Please attach the CheckResults.txt file which should now be located on your desktop to your next reply
Next:

Please run the following scanner and send back the logs.

Download DDS from one of the locations below and save to your Desktop

dds.scr

dds.com

Temporarily disable any script blocker if your Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware has it.

How To Temporarily Disable Your Anti-virus, Firewall And Anti-malware Programs

Once downloaded you can disconnect from the Internet and disable your Ant-Virus temporarily if needed.

Then double click dds.scr or dds.com to run the tool

Click the Run button if prompted with an Open File - Security Warning dialog box.

A black DOS console should open and run for a moment.

  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    • DDS.txt
    • Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop
  • Please include the following logs in your next reply "as an attachment": DDS.txt and Attach.txt

You can ignore the note about zipping the Attach.txt file in most cases.
