I'm going to leave the operating system as is. We will get new windows 10 computer. I REALLY thank you for the help! At some points the computer was almost inoperable. and now it can be used and i can it to find settings for new computer Thank You, Maurice!!

problem i tried dealing with lenovo support initially i used command prompt admin to find serial number of machine. it was all numbers But lenovo said Serial number is Numbers and letters. the Number isn't on the bottom!? and i don't have the boxes they came in. its probably on the receipts from 2013 which i don't have time to look for . maybe some day?

I'm glad they are out. Thank You. we have had so many update fails, I switch it to the middle of the night. you had to do a custom code clean out to get the "fails" out. is that the only way? in searching for" windows update failing at 30% per cent" i see people saying they're still having lots of Update fails in windows 10

cumulative KB 3000850 is there security KB4540725 is there but there's all these weird " USB HP" fails, i changed out the printer for a better one

pressed the button. powered down last night long lenovo screen. gave up. pressed button again did it again. updates installed ! got to password screen this morning . but frozen. can't type trying again now.

Windows updates say 30% for the last 5 hours. I just got up from what i was doing and clicked the screen. I don't know if they stop when the screen saver stops . Computer my be going into sleep mode? computer said there were 4 additional today after the Window update service stack , and it seemed to be stuck on the first one, i enabled updates again and restarted. i must have a setting wrong for updating?

I had done the Window update service stack you asked for but it went so fast, i wasn't sure it worked so i tried it again and it said it was already done. the "fixlist txt" is for separate issues right? other than windows update?

Yes, i disabled it because i was having issues using the tools fixes i uninstalled the Garmin, and disabled cccleaner at startup I had Windows update off also on last fix, and system restore, i'm updating it now When the computer slowed way down in the last few days i turned it off as it seemed to be Hanging, but it's on now I'm working and i may not be able to proceed with this custom fix this afternoon , maybe tomorrow morning thanks a lot Casey
