  1. Alright, so this is my first time using these forums so excuse me if I didn't post this in the correct forum. Anyways. I got a new Sony Vaio laptop just the other day and I already have 4 big viruses on it. Usually viruses for me are no biggy because there's a number of programs I can go to. But anyways. So just this morning I was scanning my computer with the Free Avast that came with this computer, and it detected 4 Rootkits. I can post their names if that's necessary. I tried to remove them but it kept giving me errors, pretty much telling me that the viruses cannot be removed. So then I went over to MalwareBytes. Usually this works miracles for me and has removed a ton of stuff in the past. The problem is that MalwareBytes didn't pick up any of these Rootkits (before scanning I did a bit of searching on Google to find out that MalwareBytes does remove Rootkits, but I could be wrong). Then I thought, okay... maybe the people who said it does detect Rootkits were wrong. So then finally I did a scan with F-Secure Blacklight; a program that is made to remove Rootkits. This didn't pick up anything either. So now I'm just sitting here wondering of Avast gave me a bunch of fake viruses.
