  1. I understand that they usually don't. I know that because I used to have AVG on my old laptop, but I got rid of it. I know most of the time, they leave behind traces in the registry and files left in the hidden folders I think. I don't know if it is or not. I had bought it in Feburary, March. I usually keep my antiviruses up to date. I could have installed webroot, but I hadn't because we had already bought norton, so there has only been 2. Do you know if theres any way besides going into the registry to make sure mcafee is completely gone?
  2. My problem had been that Norton had stopped me from using the internet before. Nothing had been able to load, though Skype still worked. So I had gotten around it and it fixed. I got my laptop with mcafee but I deleted it immediately. though they gave me webroot. I had already bought norton 360 before I got this, so I still have webroot. I don't think its the absolute latest version. It gets a similar problem I had with my malwarebytes. It says that a scan hasn't been ran on the system and when I click fix it or do a scan it doesn't run. Rebooting always fixes that, so i'm not worried about that part. I don't know how to figure out what version or norton I have so this is the picture I got (if i'm not supposed to post links I apologize!) http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/aplus/detail-page/B00EZPXWPG_Norton360_img1_lg.jpg I'll go ahead and put malwarebytes and all of its components in the exclusions for scans. The laptop is still pretty new, its windows 8.1 so I do not believe anything bad is happening. sure, when I first got it, the CMD kept running itself and I disconnected myself from the internet in a panic. But that stopped. I believe maybe the malwarebytes had a problem somehow, so doing that mbam-clean program from the first response by 1PW fixed it. Thank you for telling me what to do and linking me to that to help me add it to the list!
  3. I have checked my norton's firewall and it is set to allow mbam and mbamservice. I checked the security history though, and nortons been blocking a lot of malwarebytes. I cannot find in my norton 360 where I'd be able to type out the exclusions. The only firewall I know of that i'm using is windows, even though when I look at it it says nortons taking care of everything. As far as I know, my nortons allowing my malwarebytes to go through. Thank you for the instructions, Maurice!
  4. Thank you for replying! It seems to be working. I have it re-installed now and i'm doing a scan. (Last time I tried between my post and your response, it told me the database was missing or corrupt.) It didn't mess up or anything. I'll see how it's working later today! I hope it will be working just fine now. Thank you for taking time out of your early day to respond to me. If it happens again i'll follow the same steps!
  5. Hello. I've been getting a little problem with my malwarebytes. (Also, sorry in advance if this is in the wrong thread!) It says the real-time malware protection is on, but the website protection is not? I've updated it and its up to date. I've tried it on the right-click menu from the icon tray, and the settings menu, to re-enable the website protection, but it keeps turning back off. i've exited and re-ran my malwarebytes multiple times and it has stayed this way. If it is needed, my OS is windows 8.1 and my main antivirus is Norton 360. (however much I dislike it as I got a problem with it as soon as I installed it.) Could anyone help? Please and thank you if there's any idea's to help with my malwarebytes!
