High CPU Usage

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I've got a trouble with my laptop recently. From time to time, usually when surfing the internet, it slows down sharply. The reason - TOO high CPU Usage which I can observe in Task Manager.

The interesting point is that no any particular suspicious .exe causing this. Those 100% of CPU usage are evenly distributed among regular programs that I use on a daily basis, such as - Firefox, IE, Antivirus, Jet Audio, MS Excel, etc. If i kill any of CPU eating processes, then usage takes on another one and overall 100% of usage (or close 100%) remains persistent. The only solution is to restart machine - sometimes it helps but sometimes that 100% CPU usage appears from the very start-up of computer with no any application yet opened.

Another point is that such behaviour does not depend on whether I'm connected to internet or not.

To be on safe side I've run Ad-aware and Spybot S&D, they found something minor and removed it. Then I've installed Hijackthis and went through log with due care - to my knowledge there is no anything suspicious.

Can you please go through it as well and give me some clues what could be the cause of the problem:
