thanks all for the help and advice. now is there a way to back up my files from the bios section? mostly looking at all my e-mails in office outlook.

Hp pavilion DV7 notebook pc vista avg and not sure about firewall could be avg or just the windows one I ran some tests and now have a new error message as reads {1720 - smart hard drive detects imminent failure (failing attr:01) back up contents of the hard drive and run HDD self test in F10 set up} ...... not sure how I can back up hard drive?

I started laptop a few days ago, after it sat for a week, would not load windows after about a half an hour, then i ran the windows start up repair program, and it failed to fix the issues. so it gave me options to try and fix the issue, restore points, msdos command, reformat, ect. but without reformatting nothing seemed to work. went into the bios menu and made sure it was booting from hard drive, and to boot in safe mode but windows failed to start again. help please.....

Hi, Malware scan keeps timing out. The CPU Usage is at 100%. Could it be that Mbam.exe doesn't have enough space to run? What can i do? It could be a virus, but I can't run a scan to find out. Yesterday the computer went from 60 to 0 from clicking on a website. Computer will hardly run at all. Opening one program only takes roughly 4 minutes. Any help at all would be GREAT.

We have gone through the motions of killing the process thru the Task Manager in order to run Malwarebytes so it could terminate the virus. Unfortunately, the scan processed no detections. I thought perhaps our version was outdated, as I saw a new update for 9.10.09. I went ahead and updated it, and it restarted my computer. I killed the tsc.exe process that the virus was running (not sure if im using the correct terminology) and ran a scan using the updated version. It showed 6 infections, which I then removed. I thought that was it, but when I restarted my computer (as instructed by Malwarebytes) the Total Security stuff came back up! Can anyone tell me what to do to make Malwarebytes recognize and remove this threat? Thank you so much!!! Kristie
