  1. I updated MBAM on 2 machines and seriously wish I hadn't. Sorry but that GUI is truly vile. Problems on both systems : I don't use the Webpage checker, I never have, and never will. I have notifications set to disabled. The taskbar icon tells me with an evil red eye that protection is not complete. The dashboard shows a huge and garish warning to something I know, after all I chose that setting. At every boot a large, nasty coloured pop-up appears , telling me again that I am in terrible danger because The Webpage module is off. The pop-up will sit there all day unless clicked off and relentlessly returns at each boot. We have always had scans scheduled to weekly, on update this was changed to daily. I reset this on both systems, yet the scan has run daily , whilst the setting is clearly marked weekly. I got fed up with this pop-up appearing, right clicked the taskbar icon, and unchecked "start with windows" ...... next boot MBAM is up and running. If the "protection module" is checked, MBAM ignores the other selection and starts at boot. Lastly the new scan .......... there is no quick, or flash scan , the new scan takes a very long time . Going back to V 1.75 which worked perfectly well .
  2. This is a problem. Uncheck start with Windows and if the protection is checked, MBAM starts at next boot.
  3. I am staying with Win7 till it can't be used any more, after that it will probably be linux. No way do I want anything with touch screens or a page full of images to work through, the menu system works perfectly well and these dumb images and ribbons are a nightmare. They have ruined Outlook , Messenger and Live Mail already, all I see are more and more reasons to find other peoples apps to use in place of M$ stuff. Yes I am an old fart that doesn't like change but my teenage son and his mates at school all say the same, for doing any form of work they want what we have now, tablets and screens etc. are fine for "play" or quick mobile use.
  4. avast! and MBam Pro is an awesome combination.
  5. I sincerely hope this is just a rumour and never comes to anything.
  6. I like this forum and don't want to be banned so I won't post my thoughts .................... suffice to say if that companies products were the only ones available I would rather use my machines with no protection.
  7. You have the latest version. (1/31/2012)Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.60.1 has been released!" was the release after series 1.5.x . 1.61.0.1400 is an update with bug fixes and comes after 1.60.xx.xx
  8. Malwarebytes will provide excellent protection but it does NOT replace a resident antivirus application, it is designed to complement not replace.
  9. (A Proctologist, is a doctor who specializes in diseases of the anus, rectum & colon.) Two best friends graduated from medical school at the same time and decided that, in spite of two different specialties, they would open a practice together to share the costs of office space and personnel. Dr. Smith was the psychiatrist and Dr. Jones was the proctologist, so they put up a sign reading: "Dr. Smith and Dr. Jones: Hysterias and Posteriors" The town council was livid and insisted they change it. So, the docs changed it to read: "Schizoids and Hemorrhoids" This was also not acceptable, so they again changed the sign. "Catatonics and High Colonics" - No go. Next, they tried "Manic Depressives and Anal Retentives" - thumbs down again. Then came "Minds and Behinds" - still no good. Another attempt "Lost Souls and Butt Holes" was unacceptable again! So they tried "Analysis and Anal Cysts" - not a chance. "Nuts and Butts" - no way. "Freaks and Cheeks" - still not good. "Loons and Moons" - forget it. Almost at their wits' end, the docs finally came up with: "Dr. Smith and Dr. Jones - Specializing in Odds and Ends" Everyone loved it.
  10. DavidR at avast forum explains that this is not Avast reporting infections as such but that it is seeing virus signatures used by MBam. He explains it better than I could :
  11. Hmm, I just recreated the same results. Strange that a full scan doesn't show this up yet a user created memory scan does.
  12. 1) I belive the delay is set to avoid the boot time scan that most decent AV's run and on Eset and Avast that can be in the first 1-2 minutes of starting. 2) The Malwarebytes system starts earlier than you may think, the GUI is certainly the last thing to be loaded.
  13. I would think it is just the weekend , responses are usually quite fast. You could ask your questions here, users and staff visit all day long and could probably answer your queries.
  14. You can compare features here >> http://www.malwareby...lwarebytes_free the price of the Pro version is I think low for a lifetime license and a very sound investment, I wouldn't be without it now.
