  1. Example: In Windows 10, I can run the argument from Win+R or an elevated batch program: powershell -Command Add-MpPreference -ExclusionPath {G:\Exclusions Folder} and G:\Exclusions Folder will be added to Windows Defender. Can someone please instruct me how I can add to the MBAM Ignore List via Windows Command Line. Thanks!
  2. To: Firefox, Porthos Perhaps I did misunderstand. I was under the impression that the ip addresses being blocked by MB were related to the magnet links for the downloads and not my torrent program itself. I will give it a try and let you know what happens. Thanks !
  3. The problem with adding torrent webpage exclusions is that I would have to add hundreds of ip addresses. Most of these address I don't want to trust because they can be potentially harmful to your computer. I am going to keep Malwarebytes fully operational without exclusions, just turn off the notifications. Maybe one day MB will fix the issue of these combined notifications and return to v1.75 method of separating web & system.
  4. Normally I would agree with ignoring the popup notifications, but they are annoying as they pop up every second (i.e.: 60 per minute) I don't want to disable the protection, just the popups. I will take your advice and 'not' revert back to v1.75, but with regards to separating the system & web notifications, v1.75 is better than v2
  5. Hi all, thanks for the info. I guess for now I will have to disable the notifications (but keeping the protection, web & system active) I'm getting too many web notification popups while torrenting, that, or revert back to v1.75.
  6. Hello all, I have a question concerning Malwarebytes' notifications. In version 1.75 it was possible to disable notifications of malicious website blocking, while still receiving notifications for filesystem protection. Can this be done for version 2 as well, or have the notifications now been bundled and inseparable? Thanks.
  7. Thanks everyone for helping out. Firstly, I want to be clear that I had no intention of violating any eula from mbam, this endeavour is for personal use only to help my parents see the state of their protection on their pc. Secondly, I know that mbam tries very hard to make their software user friendly, so thank you bdubrow for taking the suggestion. I am well aware that this change may never happen, but with any luck maybe enough requests will come in - that's why I love these forums! Again, thanks all!
  8. Before anyone mentions it, I know I messed up on v1 v2 tray icons in the pic. oops, hehe.
  9. In Windows 7, MBAM version 1.xx, the tray was located in the file "mbamgui.exe" located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware" I was able to customize the icon from blue to green by changing the icon assignment in mbamgui.exe, but in version 2.xx it appears as though the file locating the tray icon has changed. Does anyone know where I can locate the v2 tray icon. (see attached pic) P.S. It should be noted that the reason why I want to change the color of the tray icon isn't purely for the sake of customizing, in fact, my parents (who now have a hard time seeing) have difficulty distinguishing the mbam blue tray icon with other blue program icons. The green allows them to be confident that they are protected without needing to identify the mbam icon per say.
  10. Speaking of annoying balloon nags, one of the main reasons why I dislike MBAM v2.0 is the inability to disable the option to "Show balloon when malicious website is blocked" (like v1.75 has). Is the MBAM planning to add this missing feature back in v2.0? Secondly, in v1.75, MBAM's icons are stored in "mbamgui.exe". I use a icon editor program to change the blue "M" to a green one, but in v2.0, I can't find the icon container folder. Where are they stored?
  11. I am running MBAM v1.75 and want to stop the nagging balloon for the v2.0 upgrade! It is very annoying and am at the point of removing MBAM altogether! Any ideas? P.S. I had installed MBAM v2.0 and removed it right away. It has too many issues and missing features.
  12. Thanks for the reply daledoc1, This looks like the standard copy & paste reply to this problem. I have seen this procedure on many blogs and support sites, but have yet to see anyone claim that it has been fixed! I was playing around with MBAM this morning and found a workaround. This is in no way a fix, just a temporary workaround. 1) I started Windows 2) Noticed the "unprotected" icon in the taskbar 3) I right-clicked on the taskbar MBAM icon and selected "Exit" 4) MBAM prompt asked me if I was sure I wanted exit, I selected Yes. 5) I restarted MBAM and navigated to the Protection tab 6) I placed a checkmark in "Enable Malicious Website Blocking", this took around 30 seconds to activate Then... MBAM auto enabled "Enable Filesystem Protection" The taskbar icon now shows fully protected. I will stay this way until the next reboot. This tells me that MBAM has a conflict in XP when the system is booting. Any thoughts on this?
  13. Hello. I am writing about a problem with the MBAM MWB module being disabled and unable to start. These are some of the steps I have taken: 1) Microsoft Security Essentials (Full Scan) = OK 2) MBAM (Full Scan) = OK 3) rkill (Full Scan) = OK 4) TDSSKiller (Full Scan) = OK 5) MBAR (Full Scan) = OK 6) ESET (Full Scan) = OK The operating system appears to be clean System info: Windows XP Pro SP3 x86 Internet Explorer 8 (Build 86001) I have seen many many blogs concerning this issue, but have not found any resolution for it. Is this an issue with MBAM and XP? Is it fixable? Not knowing is very discouraging!
  14. Hello "DarkSnakeKobra", I agree with "exile", your example of "CCleaner" does not change the core program icon, what you have shown is changing the program's shortcut -- this can be done with any Windows shortcut. I have even created my own "CCleaner" program icon and animated Windows shutdown screen.
