  1. In the blink of an eye migrating from R2.0.2 to R2.0.3 this week caused Hyper Scan elapsed time to increase 450%. Same thing happened when migrating from 2..0.1 to 2.0.2. Elapsed time of Hyper scan has increased from average 2.25 min with 2.0.2 to average 9.5 min with 2.0.3. Rootkit, archive or filesystem is turned off. No the laptop hardware has not changed an no I didn't add one million files. So why is scan time optimization a case of one step forward ten steps backward?
  2. 1. Is there a way to notify the license holder that a new version of Malwarebytes is available to download and install vs. what happened today with introducing a defective database update that disabled Malware Protection? In the end most had to reinstall MBAM to recover. 2. Just like what happened with R2.0.2, scan times in R2.0.3 have pretty much doubled from what they were just last night. Is runtime optimization taken seriously when developing a new release?
  3. Sometimes when my laptop starts to run a Hyper Scan a window for blog.malwarebytes.org is opened. I cant figure out this is happening. Any ideas?
  4. Adobe update hung, PC hung so I had to reboot. Unfortunately MBAM does not start anymore and when I double clicked the MBAM is toast. No real time protection and cant do updates. Can someone provide instructions to deinstall and reinstall to get MBAM running again, Thanks
  5. Just installed 2.0.2.1012 and scans are running much better. All sins forgiven!
  6. To speed up the scans. Heuristic analysis takes 90% of the time on any type of scan. Its been suggested to me to upgrade to 2.0.2 but from what I see there are many issues with the new build.
  7. I did untick "Use Advanced Heuristics Engine (shuriken)". Then ran a Hyper scan and heuristics analysis was stil active.
  8. Is there any way to turn off heuristic analysis during scans?
  9. For the time being I've decided NOT to upgrade to 2.0.2 as there seem to be many issues with the release as illustrated by the numerous posts in this forum. Just for the heck of it today I ran a Hyper scan expecting faster completion times. Keep in mind this is a pretty bare bone system with few apps and files. The Hyper scan took 9 minutes to complete barely faster than the threat scan. The slowest part of the process was the heuristic analysis. Can the heuristic analysis be turned off?
  10. If its any help just about all the increase in the scan time is in the heuristic analysis. This process has become painfully slow.
  11. Someone want to tell me how to uninstall current MBAM version and install new build version please.
  12. Thanks for the suggestion but I delete temp files on both PC's once a week prior to running scans. I use CCleaner.
  13. Yes this is the same computer as previously reported. Slightly longer scan times I can deal with and wouldnt be wasting anyones time. Scan times that are three to four times longer I have a problem with. Nothing on the PC has changed between MBAM 1.75 and MBAM 2.0. What has changed is the MBAM software. This PC is brand new as of December 2013 and has 6GB of RAM. I will review the procedure to deinstall and reinstall the newest build.
  14. Have been trying for two months to get R2.0 scan to perform comparable to what R1.75 did. No such luck. What took 3 minutes with R1.75 now takes 10 to 12 minutes with R2.0. Additionally R2.0 will run fine 30 minutes ago then starts another scan for no apparent reason. Cancelling a scan creates even more problems. So I've turned off R2.0 scan and enable Microsoft Security Essentials scan. I know its not as complete as MBAM 2.0 but at least it runs OK and doesnt keep burping like MBAM. Here's hoping the new release of scan is better than what R2.0 has.
