  1. Here are the log files and the actual "icu.exe" file. M MB Quarantine of ICU.zip
  2. Malwarebytes just quarantined my installation of the Icon Configuration Utility (author: funk.eu). I've been running this for (maybe) seven years. Today MB decided that this was a danger. Is that right? The program is a widely acclaimed utility. Has something gone wrong suddenly? Thanks, Michael MacKuen
  3. Dear Friend, This is beyond my level but I thought that I might ask. This morning, first thing, I updated Adobe Flashplayer (after receiving a note that it was ending in December and a suggestion that I uninstall the program). Almost immediately, I have started to receive a message that Malwarebytes is blocking FlexNet Publisher's FNPLicensingService64.exe from accessing 169.254.169.254 as a possible Trojan. OK. Then this message of a blockage repeats every 2 minutes. There is not much on the web about this, although an older reference in the Revenera FNP website indicates that this may be FlexNet Publisher doing a "virtualization check", perhaps for Amazon. https://community.flexera.com/t5/FlexNet-Publisher-Knowledge-Base/FNP-calling-IP-address-169-254-169-254/ta-p/3069 Do you know if this is a Trojan? I did uninstall Adobe Flashplayer entirely. But Malwarebytes continues to block FlexNet Publisher every two minutes attempts to contact 169.254.169.254 Should the blocks continue? Or is this a false positive? Should I make an exclusion? Thanks, Mike MacKuen Malwarebytes Block of 254.169.254.169 (10-17-2020).txt
  4. Dear friend, Please excuse me for my novice status here. I wonder if it is possible to double-check a Malwarebytes indication that a website contains a Trojan? I tried to visit a well-established amateur flight simulation site this morning: airhispania.com (IP: 95.211.55.201 [50953]). And got a Malwarebytes dire warning of a Trojan. This site has been around for longer than eight years and is modestly popular for flight training and simulator files storage. According to Virus Total (as of 2019-07-26 13:05:09 UTC), this site passed 71 tests and failed one. (The 70 passes included "Malwarebytes hpHosts". Just curious: Is that you all or someone else?) Of course it is possible that something nefarious has happened recently. I do not know what to do. People report having used the site without problems. But I am reluctant to ignore your Malwarebytes warning. I do not know if this is a false positive or not. Is there any way to be more certain? Thanks much, Michael MacKuen MBAM airhispania.com Trojan Reported 2019-10-07.txt
  5. Hi Porthos, A tip of my cap. "Awsome. You're Protected." Now I'm curious. What do you think is happening? (Would this solution work for others?) And a personal note of thanks for your voluntary efforts! And for your solution. (Knock on wood. Fingers crossed.) Much appreciated, Mike
  6. And (just to anticipate without knowing much about this), I have done the ESET / Malwarebytes mutual exclusions -- and these did not seem to do the trick. Thanks, Mike
  7. Thanks, Porthos. You are a gem. Here is the log text file... I'd surely appreciate any help possible. mb-check-results.txt
  8. As with so many others, my newly updated (3.3.1.2183 (update package version 1.0.3275) has the web protection set as off. Repeated attempts to rest fail. This must be an annoying thing to you all to find so many people with this same failure. Gosh. Mike MacKuen
  9. Please add another who received the surprise update and then crash. (Vista Ultimate here.) Will give the uninstall-download-clean-reinstall-reconfirm sequence in the hope that this works. Gosh. Mike
