  1. Fantastic that worked! what was happening before was that I followed the uninstall process from here http://helpdesk.malwarebytes.org/entries/20863082-how-to-uninstall and even after restarting and running quick clean every time It either: a, did not even have the box to tick .or b,if it did (installing on another user) it still installed the trial version anyway. Thanks again and thanks for the offer of help but I'll stick with the free version (the simpler the better!)
  2. I have the same problem I had to reinstall following a factory reset I did not un check the tick when i realised, I uninstalled (using uninstaller) restarted, ran ccleaner then reinstalled on another user this time I UNCHECKED THE TICK about pro but it still says trial. The reason I like the normal free version is that it is a good on demand scanner that does not clash with my security software. If I have to wait for the trial to end what settings should I change so that; 1, It only runs when i want it to 2,only updates when i want it to 3, and anything else so that it works the same as the old version Many thanks
  3. Thanks to the both of you for the swift replies, I am just researching at the moment as I currently use ( and am getting fed up with ) McAfee along side malwarebytes free.
  4. Sorry if this is already metioned somewhere else but I couldn't find anything. Is the Pro version a complete security soultion - if not would the pro version in conjunction with Microsoft security essentials be sufficent?
  5. So can i just do a clean reinstall of 1.51 or should i re-tick the Download and install program update if available and update? I do appreciate all the help. Thanks
  6. Sorry for all the posts but i can't edit posts. Going back to my orginal post - I may not of had any problem in the first place i think i was being a bit impatient. because past system restores had sometimes resulted in malwarebytes saying i had the latest version when it didn't, I did nt know if it was the latest version or not. Goldhound helpfully told me I did. now i re-installed the previous version and an HOUR later i updated (if id been more patient the version i had may have done the same) It is now (the old version)happily updating without a problem. so i think in future if it happens again i will just clean reinstall as i would never feel 100% confident that it had not been corrupted. If you think there is another problem I will run the scanner (If someone can help me with finding and disabling script blocker!) if not can i uninstall and reinstall now safely. Thanks
  7. Sorry if that sounded rude, i am just worried now. Im running BT netprotect plus (Mcafee) and windows defender I dont know if my anti virus has a script blocker or how to disable it. Thanks
  8. I'm confused, what is DDS? and why do i need to run it? I only had the problem because of the system restore took the pc back 24hrs, I have had this problem before and just done a clean install (which i read somewhere on this forum ages ago) now im scared that there is something wrong and wish that i had just done a clean install in the first place .
  9. I just tried and it has updated to 6774 can I change it back to the new version now? if so how? Thanks again
  10. OK, Have done, my version has changed from 1.51.0.1200 back to 1.50.1.1100
  11. Thankyou for your swift reply. I can put off re-installing for the time being. (slightly off topic) Though I was wondering after I posted, that if I had restored to 24hrs previously would the database version roll-back or be corrupted? (can't remember what happened last time).
  12. Forgot to put this: My current database informaton is showing as Date 04/06/2001 Database version 6773
  13. Hi, sorry if this has been asked before, I cant find anything but thats probably me! Where can I find the latest database version number? is there a thread? I'll explain why; When I logged on (I have the free on demand scanner) I update as I always do - no problem. I then (due to an issue with a unrelated program update) had to perform a system restore back to yesterday (3rd June 12pm ish GMT.) So after the restore I go through the routine of updating everything and I get to Malwarebytes and it says that I have the latest database version (now i think its been about 4 hrs since I updated). Before in the same situation Ive ran the uninstaller, rebooted and reinstalled. So I want to check what the latest version is so I can check if there is a problem or not, so i dont have to a unnecessary reinstall. Thanks
  14. Thats good to have it confirmed. Thanks again to everyone on the forum and at malwarebytes for all your help
  15. I will attach the full log but i cant restore as i was only given the option to ignore or remove and it i ithink it removed on reboot The person on the e mail help said it looked to be a false positive.
