The file name always starts with the letters "UAC" and is followed by one or more characters. Usually the file is in the WINDOWS\TEMP folder. Anyway, I really appreciate all the help thus far! Please advise of any additional steps I should take.
  5. You're right, McAfee was re-enabling itself. I did disable everything from within the Security Center. I don't see a version number, just McAfee VirusScan Plus. Anyway, I can't get to Kasperky on the affected machine using IE or Firefox. As near as I can tell, every AV site is locked out (I'm posting here and downloading files on a separate machine). And no, unfortunately MBAM still will not scan.
  6. I downloaded a new version of ComboFix to the desktop, but I am unable to run the program. I disabled McAfee and AV programs using Task Manager, so I don't think that is causing the problem. I tried re-naming the ComboFix.exe file, but that didn't work either.
  7. After running DrWeb, I was able to load and run Hijack This. 8. My machine was infected with "Spyware Protect 2009" malware at some point yesterday. I've been able to remove many of the malicious files with AV and Anti-Spyware software, but apparently there are still traces of the infection in my system that these programs are not catching (IE errors, unable to launch certain programs, etc.). I was able to install MBAM, but I cannot run the program. My machine won't even run the Hijack This installation executable. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
