  1. I'm having the same issue with n65adserv as well on my computer. Shall I follow the same steps as above, or would you prefer I start my own thread?
  2. Ok, that was easier than I expected. I am attaching both logs as requested. Thanks so much. I may have to do the same thing on my mom's laptop because I bet she has a mess in there as well. DDS2.txt Attach2.txt
  3. Ok, I did it. When I tried to attach the file, I get a message that says 'you aren't permitted to upload this kind of file.' This is what was in that file: A0002695.exe;C:\System Volume Information\_restore{B3DE2200-3783-4F02-97B1-64F21EB19541}\RP18;Trojan.Fakealert.19743;Deleted.; A0000336.exe;C:\System Volume Information\_restore{B3DE2200-3783-4F02-97B1-64F21EB19541}\RP2;Probably DLOADER.Trojan;; A0005073.exe;C:\System Volume Information\_restore{B3DE2200-3783-4F02-97B1-64F21EB19541}\RP36;Probably DLOADER.Trojan;; Where do I get the 'hijack this' program or log?
  4. Ok, I ran the program. I don't know how to zip files, so if it is okay, I will just attach both of them, unless you want me to copy and paste the contents here. Attach.txt DDS.txt
  5. Do I run this in administrator mode, or in the user profile where I am having the problem?
  6. Yes the administrator account has a password, and I have run three different malware/antivirus programs, and according to the results there is no infection...
  7. After getting a very nasty virus, I was told to do my normal daily activities in a different user, not the administrator account. Some things are not running right, and I am not sure why. In another forum here, someone said that you could update MBAM by right clicking on the icon and selecting the administrator profile. That didn't work. It also doesn't work when I try to do that for any program that I want to run under the administrator password. When I right click and choose 'run as' I pick 'the following user' and then administrator. I get a box that comes up and says "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not havve the appropriate permissions to access the item." This happens for every program that I want to run as the administrator. What suggestions does anyone have? I hate having to log into the administrator profile to update MBAM and all the other stuff that I need to do. I don't want to open myself up for another nasty virus like last time.
  8. As a additional twist, when I right click on ANY program and bring up the 'run as' dialog box, I get the same error message. Is it possible that there is a setting I need to change in the security settings under the administrator profile? How frustrating this has been. After my computer was infected recently, I was told not to work under the administrator profile on a daily basis, and to use it only when actually doing things that require administrator access. Ever since then, nothing seems to work right in the new profile. I wish I was a computer geek instead of a wannabe...sigh.
  9. From my understanding, you can link your PayPal account to a checking account without a credit or debit card.
  10. When I do this, I get a message that says "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." The 'check for updates' button in Malwarebytes is greyed out in this user profile, but not in the administrator profile. I can update from the administrator profile, because the 'check for updates' button is not greyed out. I know I am using the correct password for the administrator profile. I am running Windows XP SP3. I have the free version of MWB
