Ummm I was on the internet all morning using Chrome so why didn't I have this issue? Does this mean my MBAM isn't working properly?

Does MBAM Update on it's Own Now?
bru replied to bru's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
FYI this is not RESOLVED. Not sure why you ignore a bug in your program that you have been told about for years. Stop always asking for logs, its insulting to someone with a brain. There is nothing wrong other than your program resets its settings and bugs me to update. Just did it again even though I specifically disabled all the supposed prompts. -

Good to see that MBAM continues to reset itself or just plain doesn't work when it comes to not giving me a pop up that there is a new update available. YES I have everything checked or not checked correct yet I still get a pop up. I am convinced that this program is malware at this point. -

I think you have a problem you are not aware of. Every one of my computers running MBAM reverted to having the box ticked to update automatically. I had 100% changed every one myself to not allow it but they all reverted. -

Indeed. I could have sworn that setting was unticked. Checking my other machines I also see it unticked there. I am certain that was changed recently, and not by me. -

I'm aware. But I don't want a program updating on it's own all of a sudden. Not acceptable to me. -

I have the paid version and didn't change a thing. I'll have to see if it changed setting on its own. Also it updated to 4.9, looks like there's a newer version already. -
Turned on computer to get a notification that MBAM needed to restart to install an update. Had to do it since MBAM was not active. Is this new? I always controlled when to update.

I know threats evolve etc. but six updates (at least three full changes) in two months?

Last time I was able to delete the file that had obviously already been created. This time it didn't work. Or at least I think it didn't. I will mess around some more. I do have to wonder why MBAM felt it necessary to force us to update from 4.2.0 to 4.2.1? -

I'm guessing you didn't read the last thread. Unless MBAM changed something those settings have no effect. I have them both off and I still get prompts so I will say that they still don't work properly. There was a workaround to delete a file that worked last time but now seems to have been closed. -
Scan >1 hr and counting, last week 35 minutes
bru replied to bru's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Stopped the still not complete scan at 100 minutes. Reran it manually and it was complete in 17 minutes. Not acceptable. -
Scan >1 hr and counting, last week 35 minutes

95 minutes and counting. Last four scans took 35 minutes or less. NOTHING even done with the computer yet today's scan is taking this long? This program is broke. -

I would like a program that doesn't have such screwed up scans. There is no way a scan on the exact same computer should take 3 times as long one week later. A scan still running after 82 minutes when last week it was done in 35?? Not acceptable.
