  1. You know, I think the thing that irritates me the most about this posting is the line which purports the developers of Malwarebytes to be "just beginners in software development who make people believe that they're experts." I would hardly call at least five (if not more) years of programming experience by Marcin a beginning level. Having seen some of Malwarebytes older projects in source code form, I can tell you as a (not particularly skilled) application developer myself that he does not write beginning code. I know good code when I see it. This is bad marketing by A-Squared, and shows that they are genuinely terrified of Malwarebytes wiping out their sales in the United States.
  2. I'd like to see an option to start a quick scan from the tray icon, maybe just below "Start Scanner". Saves a few clicks is all it really does. Still, it might be nice.
  3. Usually he's next to impossible to get ahold of anyways... but I think I know one reason why he's been scarce and why development on MBAM has slowed down...
  4. Look for one called MalwareBytes or Scan or MBAM. You'll know it when you see it. For example, the one I found was called HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MBAMExt.MBAMShlExt and HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MBAMExt.MBAMShlExt.1 Nope, not it. Sorry.
  5. This could be a registry key that was missed. Try this and see if you can remove it manually.
  6. This is a false positive. The GTK+ runtime is an open-source library used to run certain applications, like Pidgin IM. You cannot run Pidgin IM without the GTK. If you want to use Pidgin you need to install the GTK. You can download Pidgin - the GTK is bundled with it.
  7. I do not know. Probably not, as I built it on a 32 bit machine. It only works for JREs. JDK was not part of the original idea. Please do test it. I would be most interested in the results.
  8. Hmm, odd. The same thing is happening to me. JavaRa does not actually check for updates by itself, rather, it runs jucheck.exe in the \bin\ folder of your JRE installation if you have an old enough version. This is exactly why the alternate way of updating the JRE within JavaRa was suggested and implemented. Thanks for your comments.
  9. Could be a few weeks. Work started today and that takes up most of my day now. I also have a story to finish. But I will be working on it and getting your ideas put into the program.
  10. You sure are. I'm afraid I couldn't compensate anyone with money since I am broke and this is a freeware program, but I thought that a little credit in the about box might be an attempt at a replacement. And with 9,254 downloads (roughly), someone has seen your username...
  11. 1. Coming in 1.05. 2. It's just a default message box that I wanted to inform the user that something did happen. I can fix this with a couple of if statements. 3. Can be fixed with a simple function. Thought about it but didn't know if it was necessary. Thank you for your thoughts. If you haven't noticed already, your username has been credited in the About box.
  12. 1. Dev-C++ is acting up - again. Otherwise it would be Vista compatible. 2. Cry me a riv.. oh wait. What needs to be done? I wanted it to be as simple as possible.

  14. Thanks for pointing this out. Already fixed in 1.04.
