Client software installed on the remote machine was an older version.

Recommended Posts

I've noticed a large amount of the client machines have become out of date and after rescanning the domain I get the following message on the majority of the machines: "Client software installed on the remote machine was an older version, you can perform an upgrade installation."

Does the Malwarebytes server not push out client updates (software client, not database) to the managed machines connected? If not, is there an automated way to keep the clients updated?

This is a problem for me as I manage over 3,000+ machines.

Hi jvasquez!

At this time, Malwarebytes Enterprise Edition does not automatically deploy new managed client versions out to your clients.  You can view which client version each of your clients has be looking at the Client Pane. You may need to show this column, as it is hidden by default. (Right-click the top of any column, choose "Customizeycolumns, and pick "Managed Client Version".)

An older managed client will still communicate with a newer server version, but may not be able to take advantage of newer features.  You can phase your deployment at your own pace without worrying about the clients not being protected.
